While slightly disappointing to play after mastering it's Japanese counterparts, Elite Beat Agents still manages to serve rhythm tapping goodness with a (worse than Ouendan 1 or 2 but still) good variety of cover songs. Still incredibly fun! Just a step down from the insanity and mastery that is Ouendan
For just being a rhythm game, I got super hooked into this one. The game's decent enough on Normal difficulty, but the true addiction came in Hard mode and re-mastering the song patterns, made all the more complicated. And they picked some earworm songs to play with as well. Still remember the hours spent listening to Jumping Jack Flash and You're the Inspiration. The harder difficulties, the funny scenarios you get to watch, and just the Agents themselves, really escalate this game to something special-tier.
This game introduced me to the funkiest song that I've ever listened to: Jamiroquai - Canned Heat, even surpassing Born Under Punches, made by the funkiest white band to ever exist. This game only transmits good vibes and the gameplay is easy to get but hard to master. The vignettes are a delightful way to tell the little stories of the levels and they are certainly well done.
However, I wish it were a bit longer because it felt too short. At least, short but sweet. Killer OST, but I think it's kind of redundant to say this having into account the first line of the review, right?

Shit like this is the reason why I decided to collect DS and 3DS games. There's just so many weird, but fun games I missed out on on these systems. I have heard so much praise for this game, and I gotta say, they weren't lying. This game is absurd and fun in all the best ways. It's a fantastic rhythm game with a killer soundtrack. Not only that, but while you are playing it, the craziest shit you've ever seen is happening on the top screen. If you have a DS, you gotta play it. Don't be a fool and wait 17 years to play it like I did.
Started on the second difficulty and could not get into this game at all. When i however swotched to the easiest difficulty and worked my way up to the seond and third this game really clicked for me. The satisfying taps along with the music are ao satisfying and the song selection and covers of said songs are amazing and iconic. Im gonna be honest i did not care about the intro comic book cutscenes because they were so slow but the art style and animations are so charming. This game may have some weird timing and trial and error however the gameplay loop really clicked with me.
