fast and smart combat in a stunning and mysterious world

An aesthetically incredible game, that just happens to be mechanically incredible as well.

I hate the way it feels, and that's all I have for you.

Don't remember much about this one other than that I enjoyed it while I played. Great visuals and music. Forgettable, as stated.

Gets better each time I replay it

Good music and sound design, but the controls can feel unresponsive and, while I enjoy the commitment to visual storytelling, the lack of text means that the game doesn't adequately explain its systems to the player.

Beautiful game about learning to accept one's death.
Deceptively simple in both presentation and gameplay; awe-inspiring atmosphere created by the pixel art and music, challenging but engaging combat, and fun world to explore packed with secrets and challenges that kept me hooked until the credits rolled.
Shout out to this video essay for helping me to understand the true beauty of Hyper Light Drifter hidden within an otherwise excellently-crafted video game: https://youtu.be/TqOjrYOOLNk

Moody and atmospheric game with a very purposefully vague storyline, pretty great combat, and a whole lot of exploring. Would recommend this to most people.

very fun combat and I loved the composer (disasterpiece) in high school

first impressions:
i bought the mobile version of this game on an ipad.
and it was not fun at all.
this thing is not designed to be played on a mobile screen.
this is clearly for a bigger displays and i gotta play it on one before reviewing it.

a arte e OST desse jogo é incrível vale muito a pena jogar.

this game is a hidden gem. the art, music, sound design, and movement mechanics in this game are incredible. it's a pleasure to explore this world, and each region has a very strong sense of place that stays with you for a long time afterwards. although the combat is fairly simple, there's enough variety in the design of the enemies that it doesn't become repetitive. the storytelling is also very compelling given that there is no dialogue. this has the reputation of being something like a pixel art soulsborne game, but i don't think it's nearly as difficult

literal masterpiece
hopefully they dont mess up hyper light breaker

very captivating and interesting, the music is nice and the gameplay too, very good one

This is my favorite game, its honestly one of the most beautiful games i experienced, i try to replay it every other month.

Everything about this game was amazing except the final boss. Really phenomenal hack and slash -- that being said, it felt like it was building up to something more substantial than a long set of stairs followed by a long hallway followed by a kinda easy boss.

That was good I guess. The environment secrets didn’t hit all that good, I kept thinking about Tunic and how it does it better. Not really fair, but oh well. I can appreciate the commitment to nonverbal storytelling but it didn't really add much for me. I liked slamming my guy into the wall

I cannot express how much I love this game. the environment is stunning
