Went in for the pretty art and lovely dialogue, left with a heart shattered into a million pieces

A nice, soft sapphic story about spending your life with someone and the various possibilities that can happen from that. the progression feels a little too samey in a lot of the routes, but is sweet nonetheless, doesnt take too long to explore the different routes. I heard some different endings come from deleting the data and starting over, but I couldn't do that lol

Di un tragico abbastanza banale

very cute story, so sad it was short.

A queer, sad visual novel that explores the developer's experience with a relationship, and the way it ended through the COVID pandemic. Features truly beautiful pastel style artwork, and I love the way it's not just presented as a running stream of text boxes but uses more engaging, diegetic ways to advance the narrative, such as a section conducted through phone texts and emojis. Asks a lot of its audience, emotionally, but worth the heartache.

I liked this better than missed messages, if only because I felt like the characters had more time together (because they did) they were introduced better and their relationship felt more developed than before with the protag and the roommate who I had no prior knowledge on and kinda felt like I was forced to accept they knew each other while also the in game story was like, a day long?

I liked how this game showed you where you 'messed up' with the highlight on the chapter select, which made it easy to try again instead of having to replay the entire game. I also kinda wish the art for the hospital scenes scaled with their ages, but I also understand that making more and more assets for a game with this detailed of an artstyle is difficult.

Angela He is probably most known for missed messages. (another novel in a similar style). Before playing a new life., check this one out — it's free and will give you an idea whether you will enjoy He's works.

a new life. is an emotional story about a relationship and learning to let go. It's very short, so don't expect any serious character development or anything deep, but you still should be ready for heavy feelings incoming. I went in sceptical, as I always do, and at some point found myself almost crying. And just as the previous work, this novel's art is gorgeous.

If you like novels, especially about wlw, this is a must-have! Since the price is low enough, you don't even have to wait for a sale.

Cute lil game, lovely art style!

short but effective, i really liked the way multiple playthroughs worked. i felt kind of gently guided through the story, which obviously really matched the overall vibes. good stuff!

The need to replay certain choices and the obsession with clinical death is distracting and takes away from any natural progression, making the later half fall down and loose impact. But even then, the first talks, the stares of love, for me it's quite endearing. Those glimmering eyes looking directly at you.

A trigger warning would have been good

cute and sad romance thingy I had this in my backlog since before I used this site back when I was still in gg not sure what attracted me to it maybe I just thought it looked unique at the time and recently I learned that I already owned it through one of the big itch.io bundles so why not give it a try the art is nice and the story is simple but pretty emotional not really the type of experience I look for nowadays but I am glad I experienced it

had to stare at my wall for a while in sadness after finishing the closure ending

alone and closure endings had me crying like a fucking baby, I'm the saddest person in the world right now :(

história linda e triste puta merda chorei pra caralho nesse

cute visual novel that goes kinda hard

This game is less of a cautionary tale than missed messages, which gives the story more room to maneuver. On the other hand, the story might be too ambitious for a 40 minutes run, some scenes can take a bit more time to get further fleshed out. The art is absolutely beautiful.

obligated to rate it high because i did in fact cry

Ever since playing missed messages, I've become a huge fan of Angela He's work. a new life is another beautiful short experience. The art and music is as gorgeous as always, and it holds another poignant message. Play this.

Oof, my hearth. Loved every single bit of this beautiful yet sad story. Isn't life like this? Sad still beautiful, as we continue our life with or without those people life itself gave us as a present. Loving life a little bit harder right now

Life can be cruel and unfair. Things sometimes don't go as planned or you constantly feel like you're running out of time, never getting to experience the life you planned out for yourself years ago. However, your choices, regardless of how small they might seem, have some sort of consequence, good or bad. And some of your choices can make life seem just that much more beautiful. There's that one song you have yet to write, the foods you still haven't tried, the friends you still haven't met who will stick with you for a lifetime. Love especially shouldn't be rejected out of fear you'll eventually be abandoned no matter what you do.

Love is worth experiencing despite the pain it might bring, so cherish the time you have together, be it platonically with your loved ones or with a romantic partner, for as long as possible. Sure, you may not hear these things for the first time, perhaps you're sick of being shoved poetic euphemisms down your throat. But these are all things a new life shows effortlessly with such beauty and authenticity, you can tell it was made with the experiences we've all been going through since last year in mind. It's precisely because of this that playing through it may serve as a much needed reminder to some of us that these things do in fact matter and we'll all have to confront them eventually, so why not go about it the right way?

It's been seven years since I last cried. This finally broke me. It hit extra hard with the character May and I sharing a name.
