Aero the Acro-Bat 2 is a solid platformer with charming visuals and catchy music, but it falls short of its predecessor. While still enjoyable, the level design feels less creative and lacks the thrilling set pieces of the original. The difficulty curve is erratic too, with some frustrating spikes. If you have fond memories of Aero or just enjoy classic platformers, it's worth a try, but don't expect it to blow you away.

I feared the worst and what I played... surprised me, a lot. Much better music this time around, a new look and much more appealing character, and actually a thoroughly decent platform adventure. Now that's learning from your mistakes, Sunsoft.

I've been putting this review off for a week. I don't much want to think about Aero the Acro-Bat let alone write about him, but I played the game and now I have to do a review. If I don't, the people that put me up to this will shoot me in the back of the head and I'll be found dead in a ditch the next morning.

I suppose the nicest thing I can say about this game is that I don't remember much of it. Levels have greater variety and are more intelligently designed, and in general the game looks and sounds better, but Aero still controls like he's covered in grease. It takes what should otherwise be a passable if mediocre platformer and makes it torturous to play. Every minute I was playing this game was spent wishing it would just end.

There's cutscenes between levels, which are hideously rendered. They really wanted to build the lore of Aero the Acro-Bat. Newcomer Batasha is basically a proto-Rouge the Bat and she looks horrifying. Whoever designed her has got to have a Fur Affinity account filled to the brim with the most disturbed artwork you've ever seen in your life.

This game gets two stars if only because the soundtrack is less abrasive, but I'm deducting one for Batasha awakening a level of fear in me that I never knew I could experience.

Pesadillas infantiles: El videojuego

Slightly better than the first game, but not great by any means. There's an overall better fluidity to the physics, and the music isn't as annoying, but it's still not a good game.

anyone who knows me knows how my insistance on playing this game through, despite not enjoying it, and in one night, got me unnecessarily moody. now that i'm not so hard on my own ability to finish video games, i've somewhat made peace with it.
i still think it's highly flawed with its absurd level lengths, cheap bosses and enemies, clunky momentum, and even a game-breaking bug that softlocks you right after beating edgar ektor. but, there's a quite a bit here to enjoy. it's highly creative with its settings and batshit plot, the music is not something to be scoffed at, and the animation here is charming. it's one of those games that is almost a hidden gem, but sadly doesn't quite make it.
