arguably the best season of the expansion. everyone was pretty upset with how bad nightmare containment was so bungie did something very unexpected: TWO seasonal activites. run one to get the currency to run the other, and vice versa. sure, it was grindy, but at least it was two (somewhat replayable) new activites. and - surprisingly - they were pretty fun. ketchcrash was awesome, looking back at it. story beats were pretty cool too, and i would fuck eido. and i did like the whole swashbuckler theme. arc 3.0 came out and it was pretty fun. trespasser was also super fucking awesome, and i loved it, so much so that i had the most kills with it out of any exotic throughout the entirety of witch queen. oh, also kings fall dropped. what a fucking good raid. absolutely godly. i never did kings fall back in d1 and i went into it completely blind, and it was so much fun. oryxs fight is (or was) super hard. its a shame i cant run it as much as i did.

I wish you were as good as you looked. Although, thanks for more Mithrax, Bungie

Really cool for the first week but damn it got repetitive. I like Eido tho

A much needed reprieve after Season of the Haunted’s heavy narrative. I greatly enjoyed the expansion on the House of Light and House of Salvation’s stories, and I adored the finale with Bungie finally, unapologetically showcasing Saint and Osiris’ relationship.

Overall, though, it was a fairly dry season. I appreciated the general lightheartedness, but overall it wasn’t anything to really write home about. Excited to see where the story goes from here, though!

This is the first season of Destiny 2 that I've done the season pass, the seal, and all the seasonal challenges for since they started this current seasonal model. I don't think I did all of that stuff because I was absolutely in love with this season, but rather I was just in the mood to dump some time into Destiny since I haven't done that in a while, and this just so happened to be the current content.

The story missions here were really bad, all of them were just reskinned lost sectors that you could finish in 5 minutes followed by some dialogue that barely progressed this anime filler episode plot. I do really like Eido as a character, and they did a decent job developing her compared to the vast majority of characters in Destiny, but we'll see if she actually has an impact beyond this season.

The seasonal activities are also pretty mid. Expeditions feel like a mediocre public event, but in order to progress certain things in the seal and seasonal challenges you needed to sabotage your teammates and make the activity take twice as long as it needed to. They updated this a couple times during the season to make it less of a problem, but the activity still fires no neurons even without that problem. Ketchcrash was cool at first, I really like the pirate theming of the season overall and this leaned into that harder than anything else. Over time I soured on Ketchcrash pretty quickly though, it doesn't have much variety compared to some previous seasonal activities, and so it just ends up feeling like a strike that you have to do a bunch of times in a row because the economy for this season is fucked up.

I do really like all the armor and weapons this season added as well as the Arc 3.0 stuff. I haven't done the raid yet, but I played Kings Fall a bunch in Destiny 1 so I'm sure that's also very good.

Increasingly threadbare story involvement paired with very threadbare roll out of new gameplay or environments. the seasonal model is great for new armour and weapons every season but it's starting to feel less like a weekly tv show episode and more like a weekly micro blog

YARRRRR WE PIRATES (bring this back)

Bad season. Story was slow as molasses, though the interactions with Mithrax and Eido were engaging. Both season activities were SLOGS to complete, however.

This has been the worst year of destiny content so far, and I'm not sure that will change will season of the seraph but i can hope. Kings Fall 2 was the best part but its not new content. Story was boring as shit along with the 3 and 6 man activities, i wasn't very impressed with any of the loot. The most embarrasing excuses for events ended off the season on a nothing burger. It can't get too much worse than this

I'm still really enjoying the seasonal narrative drops. I wonder if the way we play the game probably needs to change some. Despite the fact that I enjoy Ketchcrash and Expedition, the grind associated does get a bit tiresome.

I thought the message in a bottle "puzzles" were really cool, and I kinda wish more of the game had missions like that.

Long time player of Destiny, great game to relax and play! Bungie has really stepped up their game!
