This game is a really fun kids' game but falls because of a few stupid story destroying choices. The Story is the same as the movie but done as a side Schroller when coming across story events during the levels. The graphics are extremely accurate to the movie for a PlayStation 1 game, the animations of everything on screen including Hercules himself feel 2D like watching the film, animations are taken from the movie and used for every level, this is really good and appealing to look at let alone play with. The Gameplay is fun to play due to the animations, obstacles along your path that can have creative ways to get to them, and music that is a fun sounding cover of the movie, sounds pack a punch well during the action too. There are also running levels and boss fights as well, however there are 2 big problems that break the story and make it hard to call this a Hercules game, Hercules has many powers as opposed to just strength like in the movie, this goes against the whole 1 drop away from being completely mortal plot, and during the third running level, you run past loads of monsters instead of fighting them, and I can't think of any reason why they would do that, and this should be the same as the movie since they have clips from the movie during certain moments of the game, which is a shame because this game outside of that would be a 3 star game. Hercules action game is an almost recommended fun time, let down by story contrivances.
