I always thought this game was a bit overrated, I played it after SEGA's Buyuu Retsuden and it seemed like a step backwards. A bit silly of me because the gameplay is considerably better, but the roster and the barely inspired soundtrack put me off. Very subjective I guess.

A fantastic improvement over Super Butoden 1 with a better use of speed and special moves. The story mode is second to none, making the most of Dragon Ball's sometimes ridiculous plot and weaving in plenty of fighting action so each character gets their moment in the sun.

Game Review - originally written by Spinner 8

The second in the fabled Super Butouden Trilogy. Gideon Zhi says that this one is the best, but I’m not sure why. All the opponents keep running circles around you and beating the holy hell out of you quick as lightning, and summoning these gigantic energy bolts of death, and you’re lucky if you can figure out how to jump. And forget blocking a goddamn thing. Maybe it’s because I don’t know how to play, but from what I’ve seen, I certainly don’t want to bother learning.

All the Butouden games were also released in France, for some bizarre reason. Hey man, don’t ask me.

Gameplay is bad, but the soundtrack is awesome. There's an arranged album on youtube that's a must for every DBZ fan.

The rerelease on the 3DS removed the soundtrack because of plagiarism acusations towards the composer (yes, it is the same guy from DBKai)

All the features from the previous game come back including the split screen and the graphics are improved. Otherwise? Not a great fighting game, with an uninteresting roster (they even went as far as adding characters from one of the worst DBZ movies that came out back on the 90s) and the only cool thing was the giant energy attacks colliding meaning you had to button mash to win the duel.

Surprising to see stuff like Bojack and Broly. Beside that it's as good as the most average tie-in anime fighting game: not really.

Somehow a pizza place near me had a machine of this?
Anyway the game's cute but definitely stiff, more of a curiosity in this day and age than something to really sink your teeth into.

The soundtrack in general is good despite everything, but that's it, the gameplay is still horrible
