i bought this game because of a sseth video and holy shit i'm so bad at it. i do like the funny aliens though. i streamed this on twitch a little bit and got some advice from random people because you really need to look things up to make it in this game. not sure if it's more fun than civ v, but it's in space and that's gotta count for something
Made me understand why people like 4X games so much. The amount to which you can zoom in and out in this big tactical simulation of a space world war is genuinely breathtaking, and the game has this great sense of humor and wonder in equal measure to propel the whole thing forward with its tongue in its cheek just enough.
"You can either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
This infamous quote came from the developers of Endless Space 2 after they saw me play their game twice. No matter what I do, no matter what I say I'll play as. Ultimately it boils down to me rushing to unlock Corecrackers and Obliterators to go on a system cremating crusade across the galaxy in an unending quest to dominate the cosmos. This game teaches a valuable lesson in morality, integrity and the futility of fighting your own nature. The feeling of your friends discovering and tracing back a long path of obliterated planets to your territory, truly is "peak" as some would say and the cutscene of a planet blowing up never gets less entertaining.
Through this game, I have proudly taken up my seat alongside other galactic tyrants such as Sheev. And perhaps I have even become the worst of them all. Only time will tell.

A decent enough sci-fi Civ-like, I felt kind of overwhelmed with the number of systems in place over my 2 playthroughs. So much is outside your control when it comes to whether you'll be successful or not. I'm sure there's a deeper rewarding game underneath this, but I just don't care to put any more time into it at the moment. I will say the lore, art, and UI is all uniformly great.
