Any game that requires a mentor to play because it's systems are so obtuse or outdated is an awful game.
Also speaking of social dependency, this game to play at higher levels ALSO requires you have TWO ACCOUNTS!
For me personally just because I got in early and have a decent account and know how the game functions, it does evolve slowly into like a 3/5 but I'd never give it anything past that.
Half of the game is so old and not optimized because of it that it's just straight up a waste of time, anything else takes months and months to train skills to be capable at it, and even then the gameplay never really gets any better than like... Runescape tier action, just with a prettier paint job.
Awful game. Stay away from it at all costs.

Played the game for just under 2000 hours. It's got one of the most positive and constructive communities out there, and a very satisfying core loop when optimized (I eventually settled into Incursions for PvE and NPSI for PvP). The gameplay style, combat mechanics, and grindy nature are NOT for everyone, but give it a try - those who like it tend to stick around (I couldn't, due to IRL conflicts).
It is DEFINITELY a game that utterly demands skill for success. You do have to grind (as expected from a MMORPG), but skill goes a VERY long way - one cannot whale their way in and do well without sitting down and learning how to fly the darn ship.

Far too complex for me, but I have some great memories doing some basic fetch quests and enjoying the soundtrack. I’m amazed at what this community does, but again, that has always been outside the scope of my playing. There was always a sense that the universe outside of my experience was truly massive and filled with a lot going on.
