druggies should not be allowed to make video games

a história me surpreendeu e muito

Não acredite em quem fala que Everhood é uma Undertalelike, por mais que seja inspirado, os temas e a gameplay são o principal fator que diferencia os dois. E a música, que é a parte essencial, é ♥♥♥♥ DEMAIS. Joguem Everhood

A very fun game, it makes the usually boring rpg battles much more fun, and it has a very fun story too.

I really wanted to like this game more than I did, but I don't know. I think the big thing that really sets it back is how much of its identity it owes to Undertale and its very clear inspiration from that game, but never really gets close to achieving what that game did. I really enjoyed the battle system in the second half of the game and the characters are all fun, but it always comes back to "damn, Undertale really did this much better huh" anytime this game tries to do something special, especially in how the main ending (I'll still be playing to uncover secrets and such) didn't have the same level of poignancy that Undertale's does. I know it sucks to compare games like that, but this game really presents itself in a way that it makes it really hard not to constantly compare it. I might like it more after playing through the extra content so if my score changes that's why. Overall, still a cool game I'd recommend to people, just I'd also recommend Undertale louder to them.

Really cool idea for a game the story leaves absolutely no impact and is just plain uninteresting. It also plays its hand wayyyyy to early

I wish people quit comparing Everhood to Undertale. While they share similarities, they're almost nothing alike. It was precisely what made me drop the game a few years ago - I had just played Undertale and got disappointed at Everhood's "lesser" experience and apparently plagiarized style.

Now, after a few years, I finally decided to give it a second chance and, I dare to say, it's actually superior to Undertale in some aspects. So much it deserves to be analyzed as its own thing.

To begin: I loved how Everhood already establishes its intention of breaking the 4th wall right as you click "start". Without spoiling much, it's sublime how the game employs storytelling and the nature of its medium to actively challenge us - the player - both physically and, surprisingly enough, psychologically as well.

It's been a while since an interactive work has made me so thoughtful about my decisions. I'd be lying if I didn't get teary eyed during some revelations and phisophical arguments: it invites us to think about our conceptions of mortality and eternity, wrapped in a tight layer of Buddhism. And it's absolutely dripping in metaphorical beauty, if you're up to engage the game's messages in its intended higher art domain, not constrained by the physical boundaries of your direct videogame experience.

On the surface, though - and I'm not dismissing it at all by saying that - Everhood features a cast of likeable characters, fun and inventive rhythm battles (which twists and bends its genre conventions at every opportunity it gets) coated in a thick varnish of the famous "Undertale humor".

Speaking of Undertale, the only comparison I'm willing to make in regards to Everhood - beside it's humor and sometimes absurdist comedy style - is that the latter cleverly rolls both Undertale's New Game and New Game+ experience into a single coherent package. Which to me is a big plus.

Differently from the aforementioned, though, I think Everhood's lessons and truths changed me (or, in better words, instigated me to change) into a better person. It's an experience I'll carry on and keep thinking about for quite some time - and I'm grateful about it.

DDR Undertale but somehow even more Reddit than that entails. That being said, the micro level writing and characters are fun + most of the battles are really good and absolutely carry the ostentatious narrative along.

Couldn't get this game out of my head so I grinded for 10 hours yesterday to play it through again and beat all the secret fights. And I think it's suddenly one of my favourite games ever? Out of nowhere? It's never been easier to get into a flow state than while playing this, and while Everhood wears its influences on its sleeve (yumme nikki, oneshot, undertale, the usual) it still manages to be incredibly creative and unique on it's own. Some of the best music and best bosses ever in a videogame I think. I love this games approach to difficulty as well; you can turn it as high or low as you want whenever you want without it affecting achievements, allowing an adaptive approach that makes this way more accessible and customisable. Would recommend this game to pretty much anyone (that isn't photosensitive, it's uh it's not very accessible in that regard)

for the first time in history someone asked what if undertale and oneshot had good gameplay as well as fun characters, good humour and a unique meta take on videogame stories. That doesn't mean this is better than either of those games necessarily but this is really, REALLY great. Ending caught me off guard to say the least, i would highly recommend playing blind like i did.

Everhood is amazing and it’s not like any other game I’ve played before. The gameplay is so fucking fun with so much creativity with the fights especially in the second half being some of the most batshit insane boss fights I’ve ever seen. The music is godly my three personal favorites are Feisty flowers, euthanasia rollercoaster, and reconciliation this game has nothing but straight bangers. The art direction is so cool I absolutely adore a lot of this psychedelic whack ass art with it being so damn cool. As for the story I love it the twist is damn insane and while on paper it sounds a bit “edgy” but the way it’s executed is really interesting and the ending while I am someone who very rarely gets emotional at a piece of media almost got me I loved every second of this game and I can’t wait for the sequel.

beautiful game. fun and thank god for difficulty settings

Amazing rhythm game, with great visuals, amazing soundtrack and great writing.

Everhood is made by its fun battles and likeable npcs and while there isn't much more than that, it is more than enough. Each battle and scene in Everhood is a handcrafted experience with amazing visuals and fun dodging gameplay, many of these fights also have different variants and patterns. The story was also entertaining enough to keep me going through the game, however I was mostly pushing through to see the different characters again. Overall Everhood is an experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a short and exciting time.

ESSE JOGO NÃO TINHA O DIREITO DE FAZER ISSO COMIGO PUTA QUE PARIU

I would write out a rating for this game but describing it using words would miss the point of the story

meeehhh lajsdnasjldnl
nah bro it was bad asf

The gameplay and music are incredibly amazing, the aesthetic of the game reminds me of Undertale and thats not bad

i'm sorry this game fucking sucked and also it is fucking unwatchable. the photosensitive mode doesnt work and just changes the lights to a different kind of seizure inducing shitfest. its fakedeep and fucks its own dick philosophically every chance it gets. the gameplay is fun but it quite literally punishes you halfway through the game for using an introduced mechanic that deepens the gameplay loop. its almost the exact opposite of undertale in that regard, where attempting to "spare" the enemies (you know, because all quirky rpgs have to have sparing mechanics/genocide routes now) actually makes the gameplay more grating on both the eyes and hands rather than being stylistically and narratively interesting and fun to engage with. This game mistakes difficulty from skill curves with difficulty from just fucking making the screen hurt to look at. there is a story buried in here, but it's not worth digging for.
