The best Far Cry game.
BURNING WEED + SKRILLEX?
HELL YEAH 🔥

Far Cry 3 is a wild ride from start to finish! The island setting is gorgeous, and Vaas is one of the best video game villains ever. Taking over outposts feels awesome, and there's always something to do – hunting, side missions, or just exploring. The story gets a bit bonkers towards the end, and driving can be frustrating, but overall, it's a blast to play and offers a ton of freedom.

mundo aberto pikaa , o jogo é bom

(note: Not played this since 2015, so apologies for any mistakes.)

A game that launched hundreds of memes with Vaas, who turned out to not be the main villain. He's like the first major villain and is the one who kidnapped you and your white-bread friends to ransom off. That said, his sister is also crazy and crazy for you! Depending on your choices at the end though, she supports you all the way through, seeing you as a kind of chosen one for her people.

The game itself is a very fun FPS with a strong focus on stealth as not only do you stalk animals for skinning and materials, but for upgrades to your equipment and to use these abilities to stalk the bad guys, revealing the maps in, you all know it by now, radio towers!

At first wasn't too bad until you started seeing this in EVERY DAMN GAME that you've come across from this publisher! In here, each tower is a little different, requiring a little parkour here and there to eventually get to the top and then restore communications.

I quite like the idea that, as you're working with these people who have deep tribal traditions, that your upgrades come in the form of ever expanding tattoos all over your body each time to level up, regardless of if it's from passives or not.

The ability to mark targets is extremely useful when you want to take time to take out your opponents or plan on how you are going to approach this camp. Including releasing the tiger cage and letting them take full attention before you start your attack or even let it wipe out everyone, which happened to me and was hilarious.

There's a lot to do and Vaas being your antagonist for quite some time is a very entertaining character. Much like Trevor from GTA V, you'll always remember them the most, even if you don't remember the game all that well many years later.

far cry 3 dick riders is insane this game is absolute ass with hair

"Do you know the definition of insanity?"
The best Far Cry of the series

El mejor de la saga sin miedo a equivocarme. Todo el arco de Jason con los salvaje y su dualidad con Vaas es canelita en rama

This review contains spoilers

loved it so much, but i didn't like how the story ended, it was very stupid of the protagonist(i played it like 2 years ago i forgot his name) to just throw his friends when he literally played through the whole game to save like WHAT? but still a good game

"Insanity is doing the exact... same fucking thing... over and over again expecting... shit to change... "

Far Cry 3 is a first-person shooter that takes place on a lawless island ruled by pirates. You play as Jason Brody, a spoiled rich kid who has to learn how to survive in order to save his friends who were captured by the pirates.

The gameplay consists of typical FPS elements but with lots of added new mechanics like stealth killing and chaining kills together. Completing missions and killing enemies rewards XP to use in unlocking these new skills, and definitely adds more enjoyment in combat. The crafting system is simple, hunt animals, loot pelts, craft ammo pouches, bigger inventory, etc. Along with survival, you have to take on pirate outposts to create fast travel points across the map, while disabling radio towers reveals more of the map to you. Overall, combat feels good and enjoyable watching Jason basically go on a massive murder spree.

The story is definitely a strong point in Far Cry 3. Jason is given a tattoo, symbolizing his status as a warrior. As you become more powerful, you add more to the tattoo, eventually becoming the ultimate warrior. The game provides one of the best villains in gaming history, taunting you and making you question your own sanity. The game does well in showing Jason maturing and realizing who he's meant to be.

The graphics in Far Cry 3 feel as if I'm really trapped on an island. The first-person experience is excellent, and the island design is great. Lots of variety despite being a typical hot island. The environment feels living and interactable. Character design is also excellent, creating memorable faces as you experience a variety of people.

Overall, Far Cry 3 is probably the best in the series with an intriguing story and enjoyable gameplay along with likable characters and a very impressive graphics system. I definitely recommend picking up this game, especially on a sale.

An insanely competent psychological thriller during the first half, some extremely questionable narrative decisions drive this game down from great to good.

Far Cry 3 certainly knows how to do an opening. The game begins with a bunch of rich kids enjoying the high life on a tropical island paradise before being abruptly cut short as we're captured by bloodthirsty pirates who plan to sell us into slavery. We escape into the wilds of the island, where a local tribe of rebels take us in, initiating us into their warrior caste and unleashing us back out against the pirates.

The premise might sound a bit banal but Far Cry 3's strengths lie in how it rips us back to reality and reminds us that our situation is hostile and grim, with expertly done mood-whiplash moments as the game flips from exploring a beautiful island to harrowing and gut-wrenching story beats.

The writing is clearly the main draw here, but the FPS gameplay is no slouch either. Far Cry 3 wants you to engage with it stealthily, with an emphasis on exploring the island and hunting animals to gain experience and craft equipment to make your character into a Rambo-style powerhouse, and it's a satisfying loop.

It does fall apart a little bit in the latter half of the game unfortunately. The difficulty ramps up slightly more than I think is comfortable, the island loses some of its lustre once you've explored it, and a generic final villain muscles onto the scene and makes for a bland encounter. Still, for fans of strong writing, Far Cry 3 remains a great game.
