A truly unique experience that I really enjoyed. The manipulation of gravity to make you fly or fall faster was awesome. The story was pretty good too! Sad that Sony has neglected this series as it really is special.

Wonderful game and story, my most favorite game franchise. Really sad that studio japan has been disbanded

Gravity Rush is probably one of the most unique games I had ever played in my lifetime. There’s many reasons as to why I think in that specific way.

First of all, the gameplay of this game is really different and interesting compared to other games with its gravity-shifting powers, while the combat system is average and nothing really new but compared to the gravity-shifting powers, it’s really fun. I wished though there’s some improvement on the combat system. I also think that the challenges were ok, but I find it sort of fun with the gravity sliding challenges in contrast of those with other challenges.

Second, the art style and designs of characters and the music. The art style is really good and appealing, but seeing the art style in-game kind of was unappealing to me because of the shaders but I got attached to it though. The designs for characters are also good, mostly those for the shifters (Kat and Raven) and the nevi enemy designs. I think the music is pretty good, it can be catchy with

Thirdly, half of the story in this game is interesting and both Kat and Raven are the only good characters in this game. Nothing else I have to say in this section.

However though there’s two flaws in this game, which affected my whole experience with this game.

The story and some of the characters here is a mixed bag like even though some parts are appealing, there’s however parts that I find not appealing. The characters (mostly minor or side characters) are highly unforgettable compared to Kat and Raven, in which I feel that their characters were written more than than the minor and side characters. Even the antagonist in this game is not even interesting and that he himself as a villain, doesn’t seem like a huge threat and is much more of those minor villains in those comic books issues you read.

Some of the bosses are kind of underwhelming as you just use combat abilities while using gravity-shifting. There’s no innovation whatsoever, I just wished there was more to the bosses.

Anyways, wondering if Gravity Rush 2 would be a major improvement over this game here.

Overall, an 8/10.

This was a pretty fun game. The movement is a massive highlight though I wish it had a deeper combat system. The plot is pretty interesting and told mostly by comics which are beautifully drawn, sadly you need to buy part 2 if you want the whole picture.

Ainda espero um dia que tenha um porte pro PC

I love everything about this game except for the gameplay.

Really lovely idea& main character. Kinda hampered by the more normal open world mission structure and relatively tame scope of being originally a portable game. Still a crime Gravity Rush didn't become a big franchise

A charming little thing, very rough around the edges but i vibed with it quite a lot, was pretty camp and i loved that about it

I loved this game! Great, unique core set of mechanics, cool art direction and music, good writing. Definitely not perfect, a significant chunk of the missions and challenges feel like filler, it ends pretty abruptly with a lot of plot threads left dangling (seems like time or budget constraints), one major area feels kind of skipped over, but the joy of seeing and moving through this game was so good I ended up 100%ing it. If it doesn't click in the first hour or two then it's probably not for you but if you're like me then you'll be hooked from that point on.

Really fun and satisfying gameplay, if a bit awkward especially on the PS4/PS5 controllers. The original on the PS Vita fit the controller far better, but it's still really fun. It has a unique world and some memorable characters, and really promising gameplay mechanics. Excited for the sequel.

If you don't like this game you might kill babies in your free time

Such an incredibly fun game, being able to change gravity at a whim to fly around the map and defeat enemies from any angle makes this game a truly unforgettable experience.

This is one I'd been meaning to get around to for a while, and I'm really glad I did.
Gravity Rush is short and sweet (exactly how I like my games) with enough whimsicality that wouldn't feel out of place in the Ghibli Universe.
Kat is a likeable character from the get-go, as well as her main rival, Raven. The music is absolutely incredible, and you'd expect nothing less from the composer for One Piece of all things.
In terms of the gameplay loop, the traversing was incredibly fun. There were countless moments where I could not believe this was a Vita game originally, and marvelled at the sheer scale of the map (and it's depth!).
The combat has to be the weaker point of the game in my opinion. The on-foot combat is not viable at all in most cases, and while homing in from a distance to break an enemy's weak spot is incredibly satisfying, it does become a bit of trial and error or hit and miss (literally).
I'm excited to see if this is improved in the second game, and hope I enjoy that one as much as I did the original!

The combat has kiddie-pool depth, but the movement is excellent, and the Vibes are off-the-charts. It feels like a mid-2000s Playstation game in the best possible way. A real "beloved cult classic 7/10" sort of videogame.

There is so much originality here, makes you miss PlayStation Japan Studio even more.
From world, to language, to mechanics, to cheer-yet-dark plot.
I spent lot of time just falling and flying. Its so much fun.

But it's marred by repetitive missions, bad camera and combat, inconsistent story and storytelling.

This is a gem. I have never played anything like it.

Its gameplay loop is endlessly fun and it presents a brilliantly imaginative and ever-expanding world for you to explore. Such pitch perfect games are few and far between. Even its own sequel wasn't able recapture the magic quite as well.

Don't miss this one!

A beautiful little world, a unique identity, a long string of surprises. This is videogames, to me. And that feeling you get from just whizzing about the place...magic.

When I finished it and went back to playing Sekiro, I instinctively jumped off a roof and tapped R1, and then did a little sigh when I didn't fly.

I thought the controls felt like freedom, the mechanics were so much fun to experiment with.

Short, sweet and fun all around. The controls are fun and allow a lot of freedom, the challenges aren't too hard, and the semi-open world isn't exhausting to explore or complete. The only downside is that the story feels incomplete and rushed, and has too many questions and mysteries left completely unanswered and untouched. I'm hoping the sequel dives into some of this, coz I will definitely be checking that out.

This game is stylish, fun, weird, sad, scary but overall, a beatiful experience that looks like a painting in motion while you are playing it

Gravity Rush kind of fell under my expectations a bit. Its got fantastic visuals, amazing soundtrack, decent movement, and fun dialogue. However, all of that is severely dogged down by janky and annoying combat, a level up system that you aren't really told about from my memory, and an overall confusing and mediocre narrative. It's definitely a game I would recommend giving a shot on a sale, or if you own PS Plus. Hopefully the second game is better.
