Coming off of LIMBO, I think PlayDead did a great job with this game. You get the same eerie atmosphere that Limbo provides, but with a lot more detail and opportunities for worldbuilding and subtle storytelling. Puzzles are fun (most of the time), and the game offers you a great sense of progression as you make your way through them and into new locales. And adding new mechanics along the way keeps things fresh, while also lending themselves cleverly as part of the narrative. Although the ending may be controversial, Inside is a great game all the way through.
bem legal recomendo bastante!

Another fantastic game from Playdead.
Started this before I knew of 'LIMBO'. Finished it half way, then went and played LIMBO, then came back to this.
Very much in the same 'theme' as LIMBO, tackling a much more borader subject matter of mind control, experimentation on human test subjects and themes of existentialism, isolation, being hunted and post-apocalypse.
The character designs, minimal aesthetics return. Physics is as fluid as it ever was, but I think its a bit improved with subtle details around body locomotion thanks to 3-D rendenring.
I was not expecting the game to end the way it did. Absolutely fantastic.

Amazing visuals and a great showing of absurdist and weird imagery along with a horror setting. Really liked the atmosphere of the game however i felt like some of the puzzles were really basic and were just there to complement the experience. Overall a cool experience that could have had a little more to engage me as a player as it just felt like a walk right simulator at times with really simple puzzles.
As a fan of text-less games, Inside sat well with me. I had a wonderful time playing this on the OLED Steam Deck with some decent headphones. Though misophonic at times, I found myself continually awed at the game's sound design. There were disturbingly organic sound interactions that combined with droning background notes in such a way that kept me feeling a slight disgust and intrigue that I can only imagine is exactly how the developers intended the player to be feel throughout the game.
The puzzles typically had a nice flow to them that kept me immersed in the weird environmental story telling. At worst, some puzzles required preemptive knowledge or trial & error to test out boundaries of mechanics in a very "video gamey" sort of way. This video-gameyness isn't necessarily a bad thing but can clash with the more immersive focus of how the game presents itself.
Whenever I considered how this type of game could evolve, my mind kept going to games like Another World/Out of This World. It was hard not to see this game as feature-stripped version of those types of games after I made this comparison.
With that said, Inside still holds its own and is a very nice experience through and through... I just can't agree with forcing the player to use the analog stick to move in a 2D side-scroller.

playdead knows balance like no other everything here from the game design to the art direction is teeter tottering on that perfect razor sharp line. the puzzles are the most accessible but are enough to make you feel like a boss when u figure them out. animation, composition, camera work, art direction, SOUND DESIGN SOUND DESIGN SOUND DESIGN, first class. buuuuuttt this is very trial and error based which halts it a bit but replays breeze past when you know what to do. god that pulse section can eat me out
