Ever have a game that just feels impossible to jive with? Like, I dig the weird Donkey Kong Country Rareware art style, but the gameplay is not for me. I’ve watched videos, looked up guides, learned combos… it’s just one of those times.

It doesn’t help that they punch you in the dick with spammy arcade AI and six-button arcade controls (the Xbox controller does not have six face buttons). Idk it just doesn’t feel great to me. Maybe I’ll like the other two.

But Spinal is the only fighting game character who has ever existed. I love you bro <3

I played this after playing the more recent reboot, and it didn't really do anything for me. It's interesting from a historical point of view, but I don't like to play it. You mash buttons, moves come out, whatever. The visuals were very impressive in their day with a fair amount of little tricks used to make convincing characters and environments, but now a days it kind of just looks like a bygone era. Like I said, doesn't do much for me.

Killer Instinct remains as one of the most impressive graphical showcases of its time and marked an era for modern graphics on arcade machines. Thankfully the arcade original game was revisit in this Classic version and features basically unchanged material from the arcades which unfortunately includes almost unfair levels of AI opponents that were made back in the day to eat up through your coins.

Combo system-based gameplay is great and the cast of fighters is one of my all-time favorites.

The AI in this game are really tough
