Lofi Ping Pong is a simple rhythm game, you play Table Tennis returning shots in an on-going rally with three directional buttons (Left, Centre and Right). Also, you do this to a series of lo-fi hip hop tunes.
There's some gimmicks and puzzle-y elements to work with, for example there's a few stages on a rooftop where shots appear to be heading to the right, but veers to the left due to wind.
I found it really difficult to find a rhythm, the shots you're rallying are often made at random and follow no set pattern and has three strikes before restarting each stage, there are accessibility options available such as no fail.

I started playing this a couple years back after an awful tragedy I experienced that kinda left me numb to things for a bit. Weirdly, this game and the Tony Hawk 1+2 remakes brought me out of it.
...But then I got stuck on one of the levels hahaha I picked it up again yesterday while messing around on my Switch and finally beat it!
It's a blast! It sounds wonderful and looks amazing.

The challenge of it is just tapping to the beat of a metronome, essentially with random patterns so that you essentially don't learn it, you just hit to the beat. Keeping a beat isn't that hard, but its visual muddiness makes it difficult to see which direction the ball is coming in from. It looks fine otherwise, but I honestly felt like it'd be a more chill ping pong experience instead of a simplistic rhythm game.

What the back of the box doesn't tell you is this is the "learn to embrace failure" type of meditation, not the "head empty only vibes" type.
Far as I can tell this is the dev's first game, and it shows. It can be hard to figure out the difference between "challenging" and "annoying." That's why I never got that into Mario Maker. So I won't rate it, but I'll leave with this:
I laughed out loud for a while at the ending reveal. Laughter is absolutely not the intended reaction.
