9/10.
Truly gorgeous.
Absolute Great.
E a fase final.

Absolutely perfect game from start to finish. After playing Returns I can clearly see that it walked so that Dread could run. Dread takes all of the best aspects in the previous games along with refining all the issues of the previous games and combined them to create this masterpiece. Every area is super memorable and fun to explore; the gameplay flow is just seamless and that makes returning to previous areas feel natural and not like a chore. The abundant number of boss fights is incredible and they're all super fun to fight against. They also added so much enemy and boss variety which is a problem that I had with Returns. The EMMIs are leagues above the SA-X in Fusion when it comes to gameplay due to their unscripted nature and forcing you to be skillful in avoiding them until you have the means to destroy them.
Lastly I wanna talk about the story and Samus' character in this game. While this game is much more focused on the gameplay (as the previous games mostly were did as well), there isn't an insane amount of story content, which is fine. Instead we get major story reveals throughout the game which unveil a ton of cool lore and story that ties the previous stories together. Overall, this made Samus' character the most interesting she has been in the 2D series, and she doesn't need to utter a single word for me to feel that way about her.
Dread is easily the best 2D Metroid, and probably the best 2D platformer I've played so far. It expands on everything the previous games had set up for it, and refines all the issues to create the most smooth gameplay experience in the series.

A 2D Metroid that stands shoulder to shoulder with Super in my eyes. Fun and quite difficult at times. Exploration feels great with many opportunities to sequence break just like the days of old. Getting 100% was a treat, and some of the speed booster/shinespark puzzles were actually quite challenging.
This is the best Metroid game I have played!
gameplay: 10/10
The gameplay felt so smooth and simple. There was a good interval between getting new power-ups. The robots (E.M.M.I) were really scary in the beginning and was a good addition.
Traversing the Map: 10/10
The map is extremely well designed causing people to feel like making their own choices of where to go despite being led to specific places with small incentives.
Replayability: I had fun playing the game 2-3 times and think it is really simple and fun to replay.

I would have to say that Metroid Dread has become my personal greatest game I played in the last 10 or 15 years. It's setting, the movements, the boss fights, the ambience, everything is tied together so well that I don't know how they can top Dread with a sequel.
First the Gameplay and Controls, It's standard Metroid fare here, but what you have is a control scheme that not only uses about every button on the controller, but it does so in a non-complicated way, it's almost seemless! Traversing though planet ZDR felt so damn smooth it was like cutting through butter!
Planet ZDR also has some interesting baddies waiting for you that will have you killing through them, both old and new are here. The biggest addition is the E.M.M.I. They are truly terrifying, thankfully they are in their designated areas otherwise this game would be alot more stressful. They search for you and can see through walls or even hear you...they're super scary! And the boss fights here also make you feel like a genuine badass as you fight through them with a crazy aresenal.
I can't say much more without spoiling it, and it shouldn't spoil it if you haven't played it yet. If you are a fan or Metroidvanias this has to be on the top of your list and should be respected!

This game is so good that it awoke me to the genuine quality and substance that video games can have. Metroid Dread is electric, it captivates you with the atmosphere it creates which is alien, intriguing and if I'm being honest down right scary. The game is incredibly difficult but never feels punishing. Instead of every death feeling like a defeat or a problem with the game, they instead encourage and teach you to get better at the game's core mechanics. This is made explicitly clear when the game tells you that every single attack from an enemy is avoidable. This results in one of the most rewarding game play loops of all time, as every loss is your fault (Disregarding incredibly rare bugs.) The only problem I had was that I got lost a few times, however this was admittedly due to it being my first foray into metroidvanias, with many veterans of the genre mentioning how the game is actually comparatively linear. Metroid Dread's impeccable game design, taught me how to play video games, even though I've played them my whole life and that is certainly an impressive feat.
