This is a polarizing game for me to play. On one hand, I do love the atmosphere of the game, even if its ugly, lol. I also love the music and the side quests that this game delivers, it's some of the best side content a Zelda game has ever had. And some of the dungeons are fun and memorable..so why exactly do I rate it so low? The time!
I hate the time gimmick so much, even though there's ways that you can control the speed of time....the problem for me that wants to 100% complete all the Zelda games is it feels super stressful to try and get everything done within a certain time limit. There are times where it becomes super frustrating, especially if you're on the final day. Sometimes i can't get a dungeon done in time and I would have to do everything all over again in a dungeon, it's totally not cool.
The other main issue I have with it is the sense of starting over, and everything goes back to how it is...like the movie Groundhog Day...you keep repeating days over and over that for whatever reason irritates me to no end!
It's a game I would go back to eventually, but it's one of my least favorite mainline Zelda games.... -_-

At first, I thought Ys Origins was going to be a monotonous game, but they more I played, the more it branched out and made for a good little dungeon crawler.
Mind you I only played the Yunica route here, I felt like playing the other characters would be more or less the same with only the skills and the bosses being different. As fun as I had playing as Yunica, I don't think it would be worth going any further than that.
The two big highlights here are the music and the boss fights. There are some killer music here that are pretty catchy, biggest example for me is the fire section of the tower. The bosses are somewhat difficult too, until you can figure out the patterns, then it becomes pretty damn easy.
There's some variety in the level design but it could have gone further with the designs, both in themes and layout, because after a while it does feel a little samey, regardless if they add some gimmicks here and there.
It's a good game to pick up and play if you can get it on a sale, like i did. It was enjoyable that does have more game inside it, but I think one playthrough is more than enough!

It's one hell of a game. Great mystery that blends in comedy and drama quite seamless. Date and Aiba are a great pair together to help you find clues....and Mizuki is a great character in itself.
The gameplay is like walking point and click game, and it's done with Aiba...who is your eye, lol. She can create an area where she can see what happened in a certain area or get clues, it makes for an interesting time. AI also has a whole bunch of branching paths that give you multiple endings, and one main ending after you do everything.
The biggest compliment is the writing itself, it's so cleverly written whether it's when you find out about certain plots in the story, and the hilarity that happens with Date...he's quite the strange character who's a bit...uh...lewd, lol. He has some of the funniest scenes I've seen in a game.
I have to recommend this to everyone, its an awesome story with large replayability with the branching paths and just an overall good time!
