Mount & Blade's formula is great in most settings, and this is no exception. Anyone interested in the time period, the other games, or just like the idea of this type of RPG should get it! But it isn't my preferred Mount & Blade.

It's janky and it's certainly a weird choice to adapt a polish book series as a video game using the mount and blade mechanics, but early modern period Eastern Europe (or indeed, the early modern period in general) doesn't get a lot of love in video games, so I'll take it.

Considering the modding support Warband offers, this game is useless next to it. Everything that this game could offer, a few people offer with their own free mods. The only thing that was left was the story, which is also quite mediocre. There are multiple story paths you can follow in the game, but none of them are detailed and entertaining enough. In short, it was a failure considering the series.

Played for TF2 Items, wasn't as good as Warband 5/10

Legendary game. It’s very cool to play for Rus', there are few games where you can play for the Zaporozhye Cossack army.

Played it a lot since i love Mount and Blade and i LOVE the time period the game's set on, it does most things pretty well, but it has a lot of bugs, especially in the questlines, and since it's based on the original M&B instead of Warband, you can't build your own kingdom without completing one of two very specific questlines that can be bugged and screw you over through no fault of your own. Also no real modding community compared to Warband.
Oh, and the guns are too innacurate! I still played it and had fun, but at the end of the day, the setting is the main draw, for everything else you go to Warband.

With Fire & Sword makes you feel like you live in the 17th century and you decide your own destiny. It promises a unique experience for every player with the journeys you go through, the people you meet and the battles you participate in.

Probably not as good as Warband, but I like it a lot, in part just for its confidence in its very niche setting. It having a few actual plotlines is cool but I've never gotten around to doing them.
