as a baseball game connoisseur, I’ve heard the glory of this game for years, and I finally decided to pick it up at a game shop. And I totally get why it’s so loved. From the minigames, to the glorious dynasty mode, there’s a ton to do and replay. I’ve always been a sucker for franchise/dynasty game modes, and the only game series that’s surpassed this is OOTP, since that only focuses on it. and shoutout my boy Jon Dowd

The best baseball game ever created

Seeing a face generation glitch in MLBTS has made me mortally afraid of ever touching that game ever again so going 18 years back in time is the most tasteful thing I could've done. Ahead of its time I guess. Better tutorials on the game's fuckton of controls and mechanics could've helped a bit. All they have to do is rerelease this game with better graphics, an extended soundtrack, and Francisco Lindor (don't update the rosters, just add Francisco Lindor) and no other video game has to ever be made again.

It's easy to see why this is most people's pick for the best baseball game of all time. A crazy deep Owner Mode that gives you full financial control, some great historic nods to baseball's past, and a rock solid gameplay engine makes this a timeless EA Sports title.

We shit on EA for re-releasing the same sports game with new rosters every year, but the sad thing is if they had done that with MVP Baseball no one would have complained. This right here is what every baseball game should be (just take Manny off the cover :P). Killer soundtrack too.

Yearly installment sports games are typically not my thing but this one's lowkey kino

Just feels and plays really well and has a great suite of music, gameplay modes, etc.

truly one of the gaming experiences ever. going back and playing this and realizing it wasnt just blind nostalgia and this is genuinely a fun game was a revolutionary discovery

Played it recently and it reminded me of the golden era of EA sports. It's so good that it puts the sports games of this generation to shame. As a casual gamer, the only problem I have with this game is I found batting very tough even in the easiest difficulty.

Another of my childhood sports games, my pick was always the yankees lmfao

I didn't get to play a ton of it, but I do remember this being a pretty fantastic baseball game. Very fully-featured with overall great gameplay.

Just a nostalgic game for me, had a lot of fun with it in my childhood

Still the best baseball game of all time. MLB The Show is a great franchise, but I miss the days when the Franchise mode was the main attraction, not an online mode with Seasons and timed unlockables, etc.

I played this game through mods for 13 years. Every time I would try a new baseball game, I would always find myself coming back to MVP05. It's almost certainly the game that I've put the most hours into ever.

Manny Ramirez is also probably my favorite player (at least of that era) so that doesn't hurt!

stadium builder's cool, but nothing beats re-tooling minor league baseball rosters while ...and you will know us by the trail of dead plays in the background
