as a baseball game connoisseur, I’ve heard the glory of this game for years, and I finally decided to pick it up at a game shop. And I totally get why it’s so loved. From the minigames, to the glorious dynasty mode, there’s a ton to do and replay. I’ve always been a sucker for franchise/dynasty game modes, and the only game series that’s surpassed this is OOTP, since that only focuses on it. and shoutout my boy Jon Dowd
Seeing a face generation glitch in MLBTS has made me mortally afraid of ever touching that game ever again so going 18 years back in time is the most tasteful thing I could've done. Ahead of its time I guess. Better tutorials on the game's fuckton of controls and mechanics could've helped a bit. All they have to do is rerelease this game with better graphics, an extended soundtrack, and Francisco Lindor (don't update the rosters, just add Francisco Lindor) and no other video game has to ever be made again.
Still the best baseball game of all time. MLB The Show is a great franchise, but I miss the days when the Franchise mode was the main attraction, not an online mode with Seasons and timed unlockables, etc.
I played this game through mods for 13 years. Every time I would try a new baseball game, I would always find myself coming back to MVP05. It's almost certainly the game that I've put the most hours into ever.
Manny Ramirez is also probably my favorite player (at least of that era) so that doesn't hurt!
