This is a game that I think really only shines if you play the entire thing co-op. It definitely leans even further into action than RE4 did, which I think struck a better balance than this game. Chris punches a boulder in this one and that's pretty funny.

Resident Evil 5 expands the series with co-op gameplay and impressive visuals, but its shift towards action over survival horror and a lackluster story leaves fans divided on its place in the franchise.

A 2.5 stars game if you play it alone, but easily a 3.5 stars game if you play with a friend, I did that when I was younger and have good memories about it, it was fun as hell, wish I could get back to that.

I've played through this game at least 3 times on co op and haven't particularly enjoyed it. It feels like a no brainer on paper, RE4's gameplay with co op, yet it isn't even a quarter as fun. Is it the level designs? The lack of whimsy and levity in the cheesy lines and Mecha Salazar of 4? The lack of rasping merchant to provide you with arms? The racism?

Just didn't like it as much. Also boy do I dread when Capcom remakes this one hooooooo-ee

Muy guay pasarlo entero en cooperativo, como juego, pasar del 4 a este es como cometer un crímen.

It’s really fun until the guys with guns start showing up. The quality of the game dips pretty hard at that point. Additionally, as fun as it is, it’s very similar to 4, for better or worse. I find the writing to be disappointing after 4 as well. Gone is the goofiness of 4; it’s replaced by a much flatter script overall.

I wanna shout out how beautiful this game still is, though. I genuinely like the green filter. It adds a lot of character. It’s clearly made with it in mind. And I also think this has some of the best motion blur in a game. It looks awesome. Things like this draw a lot of ire from gamers, but they can be used well, and I think the implementation here is proof of that.

It’s a great romp, particularly with a friend. Definitely recommend.

for the “finale” of the chris v wesker saga, damn (in a good way) . can’t wait for the remake.

If you're lonely don't play this game because the partner AI is completely useless but if you're fortunate enough to have someone who is interested hop on as a duo and tackle the nightmare as a team!

Probably the definition of a guilty pleasure. Doesn’t change the fact it’s just worse re4. But re4 is really good so

pretty fun second to last area + some enemies were awful
also wesker opium

Very fun to play coop, and that's it. WTF is this game bro? Resident Evil meets Fast and Furious? I don't know, but being a fan of the original games from Raccon City this one was the start of the decline of the franchise.

played this with the wonderful @LenaRosalie and it was a delightful time. resident evil 5 is essentially re4's less cool brother who wants to be just like them but ultimately doesn't have the sauce. it starts out promising with the african setting being fairly unique, but after that it quickly takes a dive into boring sepia and brownish mush. probably the biggest difference in the design ethos of 4 and 5 is that 4 defined every action game that would follow, while 5 simply followed the trend of seventh generation blockbuster gaming, complete with clunky cover mechanics and the glorious Piss Filter. even despite this, it's still a good time, even if it feels like a remarkably safe follow up to re4, but then again, what wouldn't be?

also this game is so racist lol

Had fun, but can't see myself replaying this in the same way I do the others. Ricardo Irving drops the most memorable quote that never got memed the way it should have.

Resident Evil 5 is like a weird mix of old-school Resident Evil and a modern action game. You team up with Sheva to shoot your way through hordes of enemies in Africa, and while it ditches the slow-burn scares for more action-packed thrills, it's still a fun ride. Partner co-op is a blast, the over-the-top action is cheesy but enjoyable, and taking down bosses is satisfying. However, the single-player with AI Sheva can be clunky, and the story gets a bit out there. Still, if you're looking for a more action-oriented Resident Evil experience with a buddy, RE5 is a solid choice.

Went into this game ready to have a laugh of how bad it was. Finished the game with an awful taste in my mouth. I don’t want to say anymore, as a big RE fan, it pains me to talk about this game and 6

Не очень люблю эту игру, хотя ее тоже прошла 2 раза. Может дело в том что Крис мне не нравится, может дело в том что тут сюжет меня не интересует, или дело в цветокоре, он тут просто ужасный!

A fun to play co-op action horror game one of my favorite co-op story games

Played completely in co-op on normal difficulty. Switched to easy on the last chapter because we got burnt out by cheap deaths from qte’s and unskippable cutscenes.

I started out loving the classic Resi gameplay. I played it with the RE4 control scheme, which actually isn’t entirely the same, but it’s okay. I love tank controls paired with the “stand your ground” style gameplay, where you can’t run away while shooting. Love the strategic feeling of that. Also, the inventory management was fun. Glad that key items didn’t take up inventory space.

So we initially loved the stressful gameplay and campy story, but as it went along the story became tiresomely convoluted. Reading through the notes you find was incredibly boring. Also as we kept progressing qte’s started to become cheaper and lead to insta-death frequently. Qte’s need to be banished from video game design. They don’t make the cutscenes more engaging! Some of the cheapest qte’s I’ve experienced. Why do they get so much flack in other games (Shenmue and Quantic Dream games) and not here?

I think a lot of our frustration stemmed from tankier enemies, enemies that wear armor, enemies that throw grenades and shoot rocket launchers constantly, etc. It became such a chaotic and irritating final third of the game.

The final two part boss fight was pretty lame. Honestly some of the worst boss fights in the series in RE 5 (with the caveat that I’ve only beaten the 1 remake, 5, and 7). They’re just not that exciting and a lot of times are bullet sponges and have frequent qte’s.

Some memorable moments: The claustrophobic fight in the village early on (RE 4 vibes), the ogre boss fight, the motorcycle zombie gang, the bat scorpion boss fight, the Peter Lorre-esque Wesker henchman Ricardo Irving, the dogs fucking suck, big man Majini, the semi-open world boat area with the indigenous villages, the light reflection puzzles, Indiana Jones boulders on fire area, screaming “SHEVA!”and “HURRY!” and “roger”, while waiting at the doors to leave an area, the mine cart trap, the boat fight against Peter Lorre monster, sneaking past the blind lickers, and the boss fight with Jill and pulling the thing off her chest was hilarious.

o unico Resident Evil q tive coragem de jogar KKKKKKKK só pq e multiplayer

I enjoyed it because I played it with a friend, but it was really bad

Resident Evil 5 is a very controversial game, it has several details and some flaws, it was involved in controversies before and after its release and to this day it is the best-selling game in the franchise. Resident Evil 5 was released in 2009 and is a sequel that follows the events of Resident Evil: Code Veronica, controlled by Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar, two well-trained B.S.A.A agents who end up experiencing several macabre events. The game's plot is solid and well done, it closes the saga with perfection, as it is here that one of the biggest arcs of the saga comes to an end... The death of Albert Wesker! This game takes everything its predecessor did well and improved it, RE5's graphics are impressive to this day, the gameplay is good (even more so with friends) and the replay factor is great, the game also has extra modes, story DLCS which tells a little more about Jill Valentine and unlockables. Resident Evil 5 is a game that I played a lot alone and with someone and I never stopped having fun, I really like the game and I think it gets a bigger Hate than it should. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys Resident Evil Lore and if you're going to play, preferably play with a friend, it's a lot of fun :)
