the visuals are so pretty and i absolutely love how everything looks like a painting

i'm also very happy that this game is quite beginner friendly and i'm already having a lot of fun with it

yea I’m a footsies enjoyer

Ironically probably one of the better fighting games to learn as a beginner. Emphasizes big high risk high reward so you are forced to learn defensive skills

love this game but i wish i could actually play online with other people

The best game in the series bar none. Feels like they cherry picked stuff from older games that worked and built upon it from there. The single player/story stuff isn't the best, which I feel is especially unfortunate cause SamSho has a really interesting world and cast. The game also launched with really janky online but SNK did eventually make an attempt to fix that even if it took 4 years. Easy to pick up, super fun and with a fantastic roster of characters. Also shoutouts to the three series newcomers for being such perfect fits that it's hard to believe they aren't longtime veteran characters.

this game is pretty dope. i just wish that it had cross-platform online play.

do grab it on steam when it goes on sale.

Un juego guapo
un delay malisimo
por el culo lol

A shame this fighter never took off between bad marketing and horrible netcode, but it is one of my favorite recent fighting games because of how it plays and the fun selection of characters.

navigate a japanese fighting game lobby challenge (impossible)

game is unplayable also

One of the most soulful fighters released during this generation. Captures the beauty of the series perfectly. Lack of content could be excused due to the fact it was SNK's second title in their new renaissance.

Masterpiece rigged by SNK itself.

Great entry into the series and a good starting point if you want to get into Samurai Shodown. Easy to learn and hard as fuck to master, combos arent long at all the heavy hits do insane amounts of damage, but learning proper spacing and how to capitalize off of your opponents mistakes and mitigate your own mistakes will prove to be a great challenge. shit netcode of course ruins the online experience, but its being switched to proper rollback in the near future so not deducting any points for that any longer.

I NEED Iroha to be real. I would give everything to make that happen. The amount of crimes I would do just to even gain the opportunity to make this happen would be unholy. People would know my name. I would get newspaper articles about me. The news show would eventually be talking about me as the first report of the day. I would be a walking icon.

Fire game tho

hey "nice" manbun haha it fuckin sucks you hipster asshole [he turns around and reveals he is a samurai from the tokugawa shogunate] oh fuck

(if the online worked i would be shilling this at every possible moment)

update 2/2/24: online works. hop on.

wow snk really hates making money huh

I like the knight dude, i didn't even know it was a crossover character. I just think it's cool to play as a medieval knight in a japanese setting filled with samurais and shit like that. It's usually the other way around.

The graphics arent my cup of tea and there is so little content for single player. Story mode is lazy and doesn't deliver much

But in the end it's a fighting game, and it works just as it should

if this game had an online mode, it might be the best fighting game ever

this game made me go back and play the other ones. stellar game. cant wait for rollback.

Excelente jogo de luta e um retorno digno de um dos medalhões da SNK.

Great game with a huge emphasis on footsies and neutral. Pretty easy to learn, doesn't require to lab in training that much, no need to learn long combos, just get used to matchups and spacing. It has its depth despite its fairly low skill floor. The biggest gameplay related disadvantage for me is the roster being not that unique in comparison to Samsho 5 Special (on the other hand, it does not have isssues with hop priorities and weak repel mechanics like 5SP had).

The saddest issue with the game is that its netcode is one of the worst in the genre, and its release with temporary excusivity killed pretty big interest to this game in FGC. Who knows, maybe SNK and their contractors will implement rollback netcode properly, which will revive the game. But I doubt it sadly. If you have friends to play locally (or via Parsec), then give it a shot for a solid "easy to learn, hard to master" gameplay.

Such a fun fucking game and I can't wait for the official rollback. Just a simple fighting game with a really solid skill ceiling and wonderfully paced matches. Also you can play as a For Honor character and thats just really funny to me.

The gameplay in this is truly stellar for anyone learning about fighting games. There's no combos except for special cancels, and the spacing and footsies really asks you to time and choose every move carefully. On top of that, the cast is vibrant and fun, and for a fighting game in its simplest form, every character is interesting to play. I wish I had picked this up sooner.

Very fun fighter! I love the visual style here, it masks some of the low-budget-ness of the graphics (that doesn't get fully masked in a game like KOFXV, as much as I love it). Mechanically it's super cool, seeming to be a good return to the series but also having a little bit of the feel of something like The Last Blade (my personal fav). Bigo Fano
