An ugly, Alien influenced, rail shooter.

Claramente um caça-níquel desequilibrado feito para consumir o máximo de fichas possíveis... Mas jogando com fichas "infinitas" num emulador moderno, e sem a mínima pretensão de fazer uma 1cc, é divertido. Além de bonitão e com uma ação frenética, tem uns toques bacanas como os cenários destrutíveis e os inimigos com dano localizado, sendo possível explodir partes específicas de seus corpos (algo que me lembrou bastante Dead Space e não me espantaria se fosse uma das inspirações por trás do game). Uma pena que o jogo perde um pouco de sua aura massavéi sem seu aspecto material - jogar numa cabine com a arma montada e pedais devia ser bem dahora.

Space Gun is very much one of those light-gun style games that I wished I loved more than I did. I certainly hold a hell of a lot of nostalgia for it thanks to the Amiga version but as a whole it doesnt really hold up very well thanks to gameplay that sort of just 'chugs' along with very little in the way of set pieces or eyecatching moments. Its also full of quite obvious cheap hits that seem to be designed to make 1-CCing it near to impossible. So while I hold a bit of fondness for this, I cant say its something I actually ever want to go back and play. Sometimes nostalgia should stay as nostalgia.

Mounted gun shooters are always cool but very obvious cash grabs at their core since there's almost no way to make it through without taking some incessant amount of damage. Space Gun's no exception. The variety of targets and levels is too minimal relative to the game's length and quarter-munching. It's a neat relic for a couple minutes and then you move onto the next game.
