One of the most fun 2d plataformers ever. The new E-reader levels are specially fun. The Filed of view is small in this version of the game but the new levels even it out

Good remake, but not of the best quality

Call me a Zoomer, but I don't think I can get past how this game feels to play. Mario's speed is really weird and stuff and it doesn't feel as satisfying as something like Mario Wonder. This is a really good game and a really good remake, I just don't think I can continue to force myself to try to play it.

An enhanced version of the SMB3 SNES All-Stars version considered by many as the 'definitive' SMB3 game over the original.

Definitely one of the most enjoyable classic Mario side-scrolling games and (at the time) a huge improvement over the first two games in terms of level design, powerups and overall content. The improved graphics and additional content are welcome additions to this GBA version of the game.

Stages are on the shorter side but well-designed with perhaps the exception of World 8 where the game becomes frustratingly difficult.

The first game I have any memory of playing, I think? I liked the music, the frog suit and the Mario Bros arcade remake
Kinda repetitive otherwise tho

This was obviously great. I prefer the original NES graphics but these were nice. The voices weren't as annoying as in Super Mario Advance so that's a plus. The big new things are the ability to play as Luigi with that SMB2 jump physics and the 32 new levels you can access from the start menu. They are basically remixed levels with special items to collect. They include powerups and enemies from all the previous 2D mario games and really its worth checking it out though they can get pretty tough.

This was actually one of my childhood GBA games growing up, and I remember never being able to get past the third world. I decided to boot this game up on a whim since I recently modded an original GBA, and sort of accidentally ran into 100%ing this game.

For the most part I will be talking about this game as if it was the NES original, but I will add that the added graphical tweaks are all fantastic, and easily makes this the definitive version of Mario 3 in my eyes.

Super Mario 3 surprised me in a lot of ways with just how large and intracate its world is, especially for something that released on the NES. The game has over 90 levels, which is unheard of for that system, with an entire map system that has still yet to be matched by a newer Super Mario game. This game is a technical marvel that has no reason to be as quality as it is, and for that reason I can understand why so many people call this one of the best games of all time.

For myself personally thought, I think that the level design is where this game takes a bit of a nosedive. Around 2/3rd of the levels in this game are either perfectly fine, or some of Mario's best. However, around 1/3rd of the levels are either frustratingly designed, puzzle levels that are a slog to get through, or some of the worst water levels in Mario history. World 3 is the worst in that regard, as it is made up of almost entirely of water levels, and they are all just absolutely terrible.

With that said, this game is still a technical marvel, and easily one of the best 2D Mario games out there. The jump from Mario 1 to this is staggering, and that can not be understated.

.....Super Mario World is way better tho.

Super Mario Bros. 3 Is probably the best of the Super Mario Advance series on Nintendo Switch Online thanks to the E Reader Levels built in

Yeah this is a fantastic game and one of my favorite platformers for sure

Stupid ass voice lines and boring bosses are the biggest flaws I can think of

Also I played most of the e-reader levels and they’re pretty good but I prefer the main game by quite a bit

Played with my roommate who is far better at this game than I am, he carried me in the last 3 worlds hard. Really fun game that I want to get better at, which I will when I play the SNES version and practice for myself on my own time.

Si fue peak fiction. No me arrepiento de haberle hecho su 100%

Meh, nunca curti muito, mas respeito, as fases são desnecessariamente curtas.

Just logging this here for the sake of completion. If you want my real review of this game, check out the original NES version. Oh yeah the e-Reader levels fuck btw they're great

Probably the best version just because of all the extra levels with the e-cards. I felt like the controls were tweaked a little bit as well, and the smaller screen doesn't really change much so yeah, play this one instead of the NES version.

Lots of fun, but World 8 is a bitch. Obviously helped set up the rest of Mario, alongside the first 2 (technically 3) games.

Played this on the GBA as a kid. I don't think I ever beat it.

Definitely a fun way to play Super Mario Bros. 3. The musical quality and save feature does pale in comparison to the SNES version, but the portability factor is super nice. If I had to choose between this and All-Stars, I'm going to pick All-Stars. However, if this is all you have, then this isn't a bad way to play.

Wow, the name of this game is convoluted! Anyway, SMA4:SMB3 (lol) is a port of SMB3 for the GBA. As far as I can tell it plays exactly like the original, so in that sense it's a pretty good port. Some hate Mario's voice lines but I thought they were funny.

Now, regarding the game itself... at some point in my life I absolutely loved SMB3. The creativity in level design and gimmicks plus the great controls made me really enjoy the game. However, on this last playthrough I didn't really like it as much. The thing with games that have a lot of different ideas is that not all of them will stick, and while replaying the game I grew to really dislike the more "puzzle" oriented levels like castles and ghost houses. I also had trouble enjoying the auto-scrollers this time, which meant I particularly hated the last world, which left a bad taste in my mouth.

SMA4:SMB3 isn't just a port of SMB3 though, as it comes with a selection of around 30 new levels, which include mechanics from other games like SMB2 and SMW. Although a lot of these levels are fun, they suffer from the same problems I had with the levels in regular SMB3, so I didn't enjoy them all that much.

Overall, it seems SMB3 is a classic I'd have rather left in my memory...

I fucking love this game's title

It takes like four worlds for the level design to get creative

I definitely think this is the best version of the game. Graphics are good , controls ARE BETTER and there are 38 more levels to explore other than the base game. Theese levels are great (except the usual first remakes of Super Mario Bros.1 levels) and add a good amount of challenge for experienced players. Also there are plenty of collectibles to find. The only downside to all of this is Luigi , wich feels like he was added at the last moment. A lot of levels seems just studied to be played with Mario and with Luigi ... they feel like shit to play.
Overall if you have to play Supre Mario Bros. 3 play this version. It's the best one by far and adds a good amount of quality content.

I remember playing my friend's copy of this game pack in primary school, it was nice!

Super Mario Bros 3 + os levels do e-reader, a versão definitiva de SMB3

I wouldn't have thought the e-reader levels would greatly improve my enjoyment of an already incredible game, but they did, and I'm thankful for it.

(Played with some improvement hacks.)

Will maybe finish the e-Reader levels eventually. They seem alright. But for now I just wanted to actually finish Mario 3. And ehh it's still so overrated imo like it's fine it might still be something I come back to occasionally but I still really don't think the series gets particularly great until Super Mario World. I can honestly respect Mario 1 more still I think

Again definitely not bad. Just a case of something feeling overrated and it leaving a bit of an extra sour taste in your mouth. I think 6/10 is fair.
