I know people consider this one to be the black sheep of the series, but I'm not gonna just sit here and pretend that Master Orders & Crazy Orders didn't went hard.

I can't believe people played this game for money.

I probably would have given this a 4/5 before the release of Smash Ultimate. But ever since that game was released, Smash 4 has practically vanished from memory and only feels like a prototype for Ultimate. It's the only Smash game that lacks a true identity of its own, down to having the most generic title in the entire series. Not a bad game by any means or even a disappointing one, but one that I have absolutely no reason to ever return to or think about.

I remember seeing a meme at one point made by a kid who was disappointed that Spongebob, Minecraft Steve, and Freddy Fazbear weren't added as DLC. Whatever that kid's doing now, I hope they're happy at least one of their characters got added to Smash Ultimate.

That kid is probably older than me holy shit

In the grand scheme of things, it's a stepping stone between Brawl and Ultimate.

Fixes a lot of the problems with Brawl, but it also feels like a step back in a lot of ways. It has way less casual content, but has faster gameplay, more hitstun, and better online (before it was shut down). Ultimate kind of just makes this game obsolete, bit still a good game even if it is not the best Smash game.

This is probably the most nothing burger smash game out there. All of the new additions were still pretty cool though.

Não posso negar que você me divertiu MUITO mas você é medíocre

Still can't believe they cut subspace because they didn't like that the cutscenes were put on YouTube. Bullshit.

WE PLAYED THIS GAME FOR MONEY

I would give this a 3.5 but honestly that's only because this game was made almost completely irrelevant by Smash Ultimate. But that would be ignoring how good this game was and is. There are some things that I like about this game more than ultimate. I'd take the custom movesets over Spirits anyday, and I actually really miss trophies. I know it wouldn't be easy to model 7000 trophies but I still miss their presence.

It has some holes, but is altogether a very cohesive project. Smash has proven to be one of gaming pillars for how consistent it remains, even under the immense pressures the gaming industry puts on its workers. The mechanics are always on point, the stages are always creative, and the roster is deep and layered. Nothing is wasted, and everything is used to its full potential. It makes you wish other games would be more consistent. Although, sometimes some modes of the game turned out half baked, it still soars above most games.

I only played this game a couple of times at animecons and once at a girl's house.

Same things I said for Smash 3DS apply to this one. This one looks better obviously...But it has Smash Tour instead of Smash Run, and Smash Tour is the stupidest, dumbest, most motherfucking moronic, idiot est, dumbest dumb dumbass dummmbestest game mode in any game ever.

It’s Brawl except with worse modes and Wii Fit Trainer.

I joke of course, it is actually pretty good.

It introduced online that actually functions and all the fighters introduced are great!

(Game pad usage 0 stars though)

take me back to the good old days

unironically my favorite smash solely because I was a kid when i played this

It's hard to believe that this was the main Smash game at some point since it just feels like a watered down Ultimate at this point. However, a watered down Ultimate is still a good game, especially since it was all we had.

Basically Ultimate but slower, less characters, and less balanced. Still a great fighting game though.

I have a very nostalgic attachment to this game, and the Wii u in general, being able to make charizard vs bowser be an actual thing was mind blowing to me back then and I’ll never forget what it was like to play a Mario vs sonic match with my younger sibling.

An adventure mode of some kind would have helped this game a lot.

This was fun but wow looking back Ultimate does everything better.

I also played this when I was little. I remember the hype I was in. Just like many other older games, still have tons of memories from it. I still play it with my little sister sometimes.

The memories this game birthed were legendary, I spent so much time playing, the case lost it's spine.
