I have 100%d this game and as such have been given the ultimate honor and that is BEING THE GRINCH, I AM THE GRINCH.

First level is cute enough and quickly devolves into nonsense, love those classic Grinchy locations like the Who summer camp and the Who dump! I love those grinchy abilities such as the Grinchcopter! Thank you Grinch! Grinch!!!!! Grinch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cute and fun at times but it's janky, has terrible draw distance and is really bad at making itself feel intuitive. I would forgive it more if not for it releasing late 2000. Music is p neat tho

As a kid I thought that the monster on the cover was Bugs Bunny's green evil twin

The only thing that could make this better would be the option to see some grinch cock

i dont remember a single thing about this game but i remember renting it from blockbuster and all of the audio was in spanish (ps1). probably just an ok game.

The absolute WORST Dreamcast game we owned. It was so so so bad.

A super boring license kids game.
I can honestly see what they were going with in terms of gameplay but it came off as super clunky and boring most of the time.
I can truthfully say this is not a good game but in all honestly this does not deserve the infamy that it is. True it's not good, not even remotely, but there are much MUCH worse license games out there and this doesn't even scratch the surface of trash, at best it's a pretty neat idea for a game that was rushed out to meet the deadline for the movie, at worst its super clunky and boring.

Fairly unique/ahead of its time as far as game structure goes. Went in assuming it would be a spyro-esque type collectathon and instead got a list of "untitled goose game" type tasks to figure out how to do. The whole game is just The Grinch going around playing youtuber pranks (committing property crimes). More collectathon than puzzler but the varied missions kept the game interesting, which is great 'cuz even as a big collectathon fan, that side of the game is pretty dull. Imagine if the notes in Banjo-Kazooie needed to be jumped on to collect, and occasionally you have to ground pound them instead...And imagine if instead of 900 notes across 9 levels it was 3,000 across 4. Not great.

But I did like finding enough blueprints to invent stuff like high jump or the grinch copter, letting me jump to the top of people's houses so I could drop beehives into their chimneys. The blueprints being so important is both cool but also a potential pain point as you need to find all of them. Definitely a chance you'll get yourself locked out of doing anything until you find that one blueprint that eludes you.

Generally not great, and there's times where it's not suuuper clear you can interact with some things. But I don't think it overstayed its welcome. I did a 100% run and an any% run. Thought it was cool that you only have to do a certain number of the level's tasks to unlock the next area, so it's relatively open ended for how you tackle each level. The 3,000 collectibles I mentioned before are actually not required at all, they only unlock quick bonus levels/minigames. So ultimately this game leans into its strengths more than its weaknesses. It's got some pretty hot music too.

Is this a good game? No. But is it an entertaining game? I think so - cuz picture this: this isnt just The Grinch, The Video Game. This is The Grinch The Movie Starring Jim Carrey The Video Game. And you bet your sweet ass they didnt get Jim Carrey on for this.

I got this when I was like 14 because the case said that it could be 2 players, which turned out to be a misprint. I abandoned it after the broken Slime Shooter controls led me to break my controller in a fit of rage. After revisiting it and dealing with the janky controls and lack of intuitive collectables I can now say that after completing this game my reward was a motorcycle racing game where the Grinch wears a leather jacket, which of course was only single player

i'd play more but the grinch is such a prick, how could you hate christmas

unbelievable

Without a doubt the greatest game I’ve ever played. The grinch is one of the most classic movie characters and this makes him even more classic.
To be able to play as max is a genius move on the Devs part that is the greatest feature in video game history
Puzzles, you’ve got them
Grinch gun, you’ve got it
The dump, you’ve got it

The submarine is phenomenal and I am so glad it’s a part of the game

The voice of the grinch is true to life and a really great grinch voice

The rotten egg launcher is the best video game weapon and the mayor of whoville is the best video game character.

I love the chisel scene in The Grinch, it’s really funny and just like the grinch movie humour.

To be able to sabatoge all of the homes of whoville is to be able to experience the joys of Christmas and destroying property.

What is there not to love, oh yeah, the smell of his rotten eggs haha

I don't remember how I ended up with this game, but I do remember that I tried it once and then never again. And I had very low standards.

The GBC version of this game doesn't exist on this site, but that version is a cool stealth game that is worth playing through
