The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer is a short but action-packed adventure that expands on the world of the beloved Pixar film. Players seamlessly switch between Mr. Incredible and Frozone, using their unique powers to battle robots and navigate levels inspired by the movie's sequel. While the level design can feel a bit repetitive and the combat has its limitations, the game captures the spirit of the Incredibles with exciting setpieces and a focus on superhero teamwork. It's a fun blast from the past for fans of the franchise, even if it doesn't reach groundbreaking heights.

Fraquinho.

have fond memories of fighting with my sister over who got to play frozone

eu ODIAVA QUANDO EU ESTAVA CONSTRUINDO A PONTE USANDO O GELADO E TOMAVA 1 HIT. 1 HIIIIIIIIIIT, pq simplesmente CANCELAVA a construção da ponte

Somehow a better Incredibles 2 than the actual Incredibles 2 (yeah, I said it).

Bits and pieces of an okay game, and I liked the inclusion of a co-op mode - but ultimately Rise of the Underminer had little that was truly engaging or special to be a memorable game.

For over a decade, this was considered the official continuation of The Incredibles movie, starting right where the movie left off (even going as far as playing the ending of the movie as you load up the game).

Unfortunately, this game doesn't really do the original movie any justice.
In the game, only Mr. Incredible and Frozone are playable characters, with the rest of the family off destroying drills off screen. They're never shown in game, nor do they have any lines at all.

This means the game is a two-player offering; the idea is to play this game with two people, and two controllers.
Unfortunately, I don't have anyone willing to play this game with me, so I had to go it alone.

The game has 11 main levels, all of which are pretty much the same beat-em-up level on a loop with a slight variation.
You can switch between the two characters and work together on puzzles, but the AI is duller than dishwater, sometimes getting in the way of attacks or just dying constantly, plus never actually helps.

Breaking up the monotony are a few boss battles which are pretty straight forward. The final boss, the Underminer himself, was done alone as the AI Player 2 was only needed for one section of it and kept dying. His constant respawning kept confusing enemies so it did help.

I started this game while waiting for files to transfer from my phone to a newly purchased tablet and finished the story before the files had finished copying.

This game feels like the kind of game you'd play with the friend your mom has allowed to come over.
You'd always be Mr. Incredible and the friend would always be Frozone.

Ok this one actually good iam not even kidding it was my childhood

Super a jouer et largement meilleurs que son prédécesseur (qui pourtant est très sympa)

Ég og félagi minn kláruðum þennan í einni situ! (ég var herra ótrúlegur og hann frozone)

I remember playing this with my dad at the beach when I was like 7. Good times.

The Incredibles 2 movie should've been based on this game

I got this from Blockbuster and never beat it. First one was cooler.

so happy this existed and was not a fever dream

The first game I ever beat by myself!

eu já joguei esse jogo tantas vezes com minha irmã, saudade dessa época, o tempo passa, é assustador, as vezes ruim, mas não é de todos males.

I do feel I should emphasize for those that didn't read what platform I played this on, everything I say only applies to the DS version.

This game is not good like at all. It's an extremely simple 2.5D sidescrolling beat-em-up that gets repetitive and boring fast. There's only 3 different environments (with 2 of them basically just being palette swaps) and like 3 or 4 enemy types that never really change designs. The way you progress never really presents any challenge either as it's always the exact same platforming challenge.

Challenge should honestly be in like 5 layers of quotes cause Frozone destroys any challenge this game might have had. I will admit for the first couple levels I was dying a few times, even had to use a couple continues. This is cause I was using Mr. Incredible most of the time. He absolutely sucks in this game. His special has tons of start up and usually enemies will just hit you before you can do it so you're just stuck using a basic 3 hit combo. Then I swapped to Frozone and realized nearly every enemy in the game can be pretty much permanently frozen. Freezing enemies comes out fast also with the only ones that can have any form of reactions being enemies that focus on projectile attacks (which will usually hit you from off screen). Then you can just do a massive frost blast which instantly kills most weak enemies. Also the platforming challenges don't exist cause Frozone can just fly over them and in the ice levels the ice physics don't apply to him. Seriously he's busted.

The combat in this game is the absolute worst part about it. Mr. Incredible has a basic 3 hit combo, a special that can stun enemies, and can pick up frozen enemies (which is never needed in the game). Frozone can throw a small ice projectile, freeze smaller enemies (the same attack just stuns bigger ones, but some big ones can also be frozen which doesn't make much sense), and unleash a big frost attack. Your only methods of defense for either character is jumping and a dodge roll. There's no blocking or crouch attacking. There's also no way to upgrade abilities outside of finding collectibles that extend your special meter. Honestly this version feels more like an afterthought cause there are decent sidescrolling beat-em-ups on the DS (Naruto Ninja Council 2, Batman Brave and the Bold, Ben 10 Alien Force, etc) so there's not much of an excuse here.

Visually this game looks very meh. Like I said earlier, there's only 3 areas in the game: a cave, an ice cave, and a factory. The cave and ice cave look extremely similar just with the ice cave being blue. The robot enemies all look extremely generic with no effort being put into making them fit their environments. Everything just looks dull. I did like the attempt at making the cutscenes look kind of like a comic though.

Honestly don't even bother with the DS version, even if you've already played the console one and are just curious. Yeah it's short (I finished it in under 2 hours), but it's just a massive waste of time. Go play any other beat-em-up please.

This game is shockingly boring. The Story takes place after the first film where you fight the Underminer from the end of it, which is a fun idea for a game only sequel, but there's nothing to it but beating down his robots to get to him and win, that's it as bland storytelling as you can get. The Graphics are great though, they are modelled fine, and the colors and backgrounds feel like they are from the Incredibles universe. The Gameplay has you switch between Mr. Incredible and Frozone and beat up robots, well making your way to the end of each level, and that's everything you do, that is a terrible, repetitive idea for the game with nothing else happening, that even upgrades won't get you any more than a moment of more enjoyment, the only slight enjoyment you might get ae the cutscenes with the robots talking, but only since it's not the same as the gameplay and I don't mind their voices. The Music is great though and fits the tone and atmosphere too. Rise of the underminer will make you wish that they one day make a good Incredibles sequel (were still waiting).

bro i was expecting to play as elastic girl
