Ah, Tron Bonne, my beloved

Now that's out of the way, with this the I played the...sadly final game in this sub-series so far.

It's pretty good, at first the tutorial and the action part with the bank hooked me up in as I expected an adventure as long as the main Legends game....that didn't exactly happen and there were definitely times where I got bored (I just used a walkthrough for the puzzles after a while and used a map to accompany me in the digging missions).

It's a spin-off so I get why it is this way. It was surprisingly shorter than I expected but I had fun. I picked #17 as my favorite Servbot, since he had good stats, barely a sloth and managed to get all his stats up and made him discover his talent of "Grenade". Don't regret that decision

And the way the game ended oof...lol.

Having first seen Tron in MVC and not seeing anything similar in MML1 or 2, I wondered if this was the game to inspire her moves and Gustaff there...it was not but I see where "Lunch Time" came from and that's pretty cool lol

Attack minigame isn't so good...but I did the Speed minigame well for many Servbots.

Overall, I don't have much to say. It's a good spin-off and the best girl of the series gets some much deserves screentime.

I'm surprised they bothered to dub Bon this time, something that didn't happen in either Legends games...strange.
Nice to see what Glyde and has birds I so love were up to before MML2...wonder how he broke out?

Denise is definitely a cutie...holy shit she can slam that huge mecha to the ground! Wish she atleast made a cameo in MML2 but apperantly she's in that mobile game...I should watch the fan dub playthrough of that one sometime...and I'm not talking about X Dive

Uncle Digg twist was interesting...I honestly expected it to go the "I was a villain impersonating the guy all along!" route but the ending we got was nice too....Roxanne sure is a bae.

....and so is Perl! Dantz on the other hand needs to stop running face first into traps....I don't have much to say about the other characters. It's also so cool seeing Servbots taking on big ass Reaverbots under Tron Bonne's guidance! This game was a wonderful shine on these characters after seeing them lose in MML all the time for sure.

Also I did not expect them to touch upon their parents...there's even an unused item that possibly revealed it.

Among the cut items, there's Tron's Diary...wonder what it would do?

Fun fact, according to one cut item, Tron's Panties, she wears pink panties.
Only thing rivaling this information is if the Jet Set Radio Future dick size sheet leaked.

Recently the Japan exclusive demo of MML2, the demo that was packaged in with the Japanese version of Tron Bonne, which features a unique scenario, finally got an English fan translation hack! It was available to watch with English subs on YT for a while now but it's finally playable too!

And we also got a hack that adds the FPS fix for the otherwise dreadful underwater levels, and as I like to call "better economy" of the Japan only PSP port of MML2 over to the localized PS1 version!

Go play 'em! Never been a better time to be a MML fan...I just wish they came out when before I started MML2 lol

This game turned out to be even more fun than I expected! Vibe a lot with these cartoon PS1 graphics, anime character icons, funky music and diverse gameplay sections. Funny how this is the second Mega Man game I played and the first one I actually finished.

(Also Tron Bonne is super cute and has peak character design! Thank you for making this whole game about her, CAPCOM)

I don't consider myself a total weeb (I just like JRPGs a lot, there's probably some other term for that) and I don't get into the waifu thing but Tron Bonne is waifu

bruh wtf
i thought this would be a bite sized mega man legends 1 where you play in tron's mech
and there is a little of that, particularly in the beginning with the opening level as tiesel
but dont be fooled, that section is a red herring to make you think the misadventures of tron bonne isn't a compilation of really bad minigames with some of the worst padding ive seen in a game
HALF OF THIS GAME IS BOX PUZZLES
WHY IS IT BOX PUZZLES
THEY ALL SUCK
theres also minigames where you train your bots by either tossing bombs at targets or cooking food, and its weirdly strict for both and they both just suck and the game expects you to grind to level up the bots but like its such a slog i cant imagine actually going through with it, i suffered through some low level bots because it was ultimately a choice between misery and agony
and you need those bots trained for missions such as a first person dungeon crawler where you shoot your goons at buttons and holes and sometimes theres an enemy that you punch or a boss that you throw your nazi lego robots at but overall its just moving in a dungeon
theres also these annoying levels on sart farm where you tell the servbots to grab animals and its really annoying because robots will attack them and cause them to drop the animal and if you shoot the bad robots your shots dont do enough damage to stun or kill them (and thats after buying all the upgrades and using a gattling gun) so you kinda just need to keep telling your bots to kidnap the animals other robots keep spamming you and your robots (not even doing much damage mind you) until eventually you get them all, and then the missions still not done because you need to protect the van of animals you stole from a big robot and fucking it does so much damage to the van and only targets it and its so much faster and you do so little damage to it that the only way i found to be viable at protecting the van is to stun it by walking into its legs and just repeating that until the van is safe (occassionally healing)
another mission you can do is... um i guess theres one where you rob a bank, but tron gets sent to the wrong place and you just fight off some cops for 3 minutes... and i guess theres some ruins you can go to? but like theres not do. i feel like im missing one or two, but thats pretty much the bulk of the game
and then at the end you fight a pretty bad boss with a health bar going beyond the screen and do little plicks at it until its dead....and you dont even do it as tron bonne, but one of the servbots

overall not a very good game, really annoying and grindy but it at least looks cool

A fun Mega Man Legends spinoff the is divided between Legends-esque action sequences and a bunch of different minigames. The way you manage and improve the skills of your Servbots is pretty reminiscent of the way you manage your soldiers in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Full analysis of the game on my YT if you'd like to support my efforts there!

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne is a game with a lot of charm and fun times but is quite a bit of a hollow feeling mess in ways as well.

Most times games like this for me can skate by on charm and their narratives if they're good or interesting enough but for me while that tended to work fairly well for me in Mega Man Legends with the way it tends to balance everything it has going on, here everything feels disconnected and disjointed, something about it didn't click for me in the same way even if I still enjoyed aspects of it.

The mission variety is there but the combat still feels like a bit of a mess, the lock on is sporadic, controlling the Gustaff can feel stiff, the enemy placement and types you fight do tend to feel a lot better at least which is nice.

Now though there's other parts to this whole shebang that tries to spice things up which I respect. There's puzzle levels which feel really great actually. Never thought I'd fuck with it but trying to find the best route to get the crate to the ship genuinely felt satisfying even when I got stumped on one or another.

The dungeon crawly segments are a fun idea with really fun character interactions but the gameplay itself is severly hollow and mad boring just watching your servbots essentially do everything for you, anytime combat happened I was so fuckin bored, I would've actually been way more into it if they went all in with it and just made it turn based or something! I just feel like there had to be a better way and more of a genuine incentive to level up your little guys.

Then there's animal abduction missions which just kinda feel like shit to play to me. Trying to keep your servbots on the animals, trying to make sure they don't keep running away from you when you are in a MECH that can LIFT things just feels real weird! Also the whole thing being a glorified escort mission feels real bad, not a fan!

The servbot management is cute, there's fun interactions and fun little ideas there but honestly it just kinda felt like it didn't matter at all. Managing these little guys felt largerly unnecessary outside of one or two things (bringing a brainy servbot to the puzzle missions in order to get actual hints is probably my favorite thing). It's good for upgrading the Gustaff and getting upgrades for it, though the materials you get for upgrading it I'm pretty sure are mandatory anyway so idk man. But everything else again while cute felt so disconnected from the actual missions and anything I was actually doing that I just didn't feel like it added anything majorly to the whole of this experience. Honestly it just made me wanna play Peace Walker again and experience the variety and structure and replayability that game offered. Ya can't even replay missions here without restarting the entire game which idk man.

The side characters here are great, loved interacting with pretty much all of them and learning a little more about the world but something about it felt like it was lacking that oomph that Legends had, like some 3rd piece was missing. Maybe that ominous mystery Legends was constantly rocking?

I feel like there's good ways they could've expanded upon this but for what it is it's like fine. I enjoyed myself, it wasn't bad or anything but after how fuckin good Legends was it's hard to hop into this honestly.

I wanna smooch Glyde and cosplay as Roxette.

A game full of personality with several interesting and different game modes, some being quite demanding like Course 2 in the Gym and some Primiki Harbor puzzles. My only complaints would be that the Gustaff is uncomfortably clunkier to control than Megaman in the previous game, and the game itself is quite short, without much replayability or post-game factor.

Um spin-off muito divertido da Tron

In the style of the 90s instead of aiming to nail down one style, this game lots for several. The good news is that it manages to do this surprisingly well. The result is a game that's fairly addictive as you grind for servbot improvements, switch mission types and eventually run and gun your way through environments and enemies.

The controls are a little awkward by modern standards, but otherwise this game is still very successful and enjoyable.

I love this game very much. Made during Capcom's heyday, I think that the people on the team knew this game might not sell well, but it was made from love and passion and you can really tell while playing

I played The Misadventures of Tron Bonne when I was sick, in my bed, and was getting over a flu and man was it a great time. Easily my personal favorite out of the Megaman Legends trilogy.

I think everyone can agree that The Bonnes and the Servbots were the best characters in MML and I'm so glad to say they could carry their own games easily! There was also a big jump in quality for the cutscenes which I think help sell their deliveries. I love the sprite work on all the characters and I personally prefer it to the in-game cutscenes in MML. It let's the characters be much more expressive when talking.

Gameplay wise I wish there was a bit... less? This game's whole thing is different playstyles so some levels it plays just like MML and in others it's a puzzle game then you gotta play mini games with your Servbots (my personal favorite). I guess I'd just wish it was more consistent gameplay wise.

Overall, it is a great game with a many flaws. If you like the Legends series for the gameplay I'd skip this one. If you like it for the characters and charm this game has the most of it for sure.

There's really no game like this: the aesthetic, voices, and humor are all great, and the varied gameplay keeps things fresh throughout the game.

Navigating the ship's menus wasn't easy, and there are many aspects of the Servbot system that are arbitrarily complicated or are unneeded for the challenges the game provides. Still, this is one game I'll gladly vouch for!

The Misadventures of a Gamer's Wallet

This game is not fun most of the time, only thing that was worth it was the cute character interactions and such.

When I started the game and discovered it was essentially a mini-game collection, of sorts, I was expecting it to be a let down but after a few hours of play I was completely hooked.

Tons of personality and the game play variety means that it's extremely easy to lose yourself in it for hours at a time.

I didn't think I'd enjoy paying off loan shark debts this much

I picked this game because Tron was one of my main in the MVC games, and I got a surprising good time with it!

Close your eyes for a second and imagine a game completely based on the gimmicks of Pokemon's Team Rocket or Dorombo from Yatterman.

This is what is The Misadventures of Tron Bonne is: a cheesy spin off based on one of Megaman best side characters, with a silly premise, and tons of comedic dialoges and shenanigans.

This game offers a lot of different set of side-games and gameplay options, that adds a lot of charm to the title.
Though if I gotta be honest, not all of them are bangers.

The "story chapter" where you control Tron and her mechs are great and completely capture the charm of the Legends series. And the ability to befriend any of the Servbots, each with different stats and abilities, is really adorable. The Boss Battle are also really neat!

But.... some of the other sections can be too tedious: the cave explorations can become monotonous pretty soon, the puzzle cargo sections are an unnecessarily obligatory sections that breaks the rhythm of the game, the mission where you have to capture animals are nice but nothing special....

... and the game doesn't have enough Teisel, dang it! I want more Teisel, he is cool!

But yeah, this game is still reallly gìcharming! It may not fill the void for a Megaman Legends 3, but it is still worth checking out if you are a fan of the series.

I really like the premise and there are too few games that let you play as a the stooge villain group. It could have benefitted from more variety in game types and the respawn speed of enemies on some levels is way too fast.

A mini game collection at its core. While the missions themselves can be hit or miss, the charming villains from Mega Man Legends make up for it. A short and mostly fun romp. Worth it to see more of the Bonnes.

Extremely charming and beautiful game that sadly starts slipping in the later missions.

The control scheme is clunky. The right analog stick should've been used for camera control.

This is a really great game but I will probably enjoy it more on replay when I have a better idea of everything from the jump. It did take me a while to get into it though, once I saw all those interactable servbots and all you could do with them my brain was fryed and I stopped playing for a few months...

But luckily it isn't as overwhelming as it first seems. This game is all about the different missions you can complete, there is a decent variety of missions that give you a certain amount of currency. Get to a certain currency and you get to the end. Simple as that.

I do really like the mission format even if this isn't too much of a Legends game, gameplay wise. I don't love all the missions though. I like the block puzzle one even if I ended up unable to do alot of the perfect runs for it which made me sad. I like exploring the ruin even if I do kind of wish there were multiple. I didn't like the farm one at all. The one where you send servbots to uncover stuff was... Okay, the characters we met were pretty fun but the gameplay is pretty nothing.

This is a Legends game though and it packs all that familiar charm. Tron and the Servbots are hillarious in this game. The torture room is simply a thing of beauty.

Doesn't beat the original for me but this is a great spin-off, the best in the series.

Very fun game that you can take at your own pace with a fun plot and cast like Mega Man Legends. I like the fact that you can unlock the final boss and continue doing missions and upgrading or training the servebots if that's your thing or if you just want more gameplay which it is definitely more varied than MML. Don't feel you need to play MML as this game carries itself without any drawback.

Correctly identifies the Bonnes as the greatest thing to come out of Capcom and gives a really fun and charming adventure that doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. Straight up the most under-appreciated game in the entire Mega Man series.

more of a collection of 3 mini games than a full fledged new entry in mega man legends. Still fun and worth a play if you like the mega man legends universe and characters, cuz boy howdy are we not getting a 3rd mainline game anytime soon. You get to individually name each of tron's servbots which is amazing. Absolutely worth playing for the charm, though that could easily be said about the whole series. I wish tron was in more games...

This is the definition of a mixed bag if I've ever seen one. It's still got the strong art direction and fun tone of mega man legends, but the gameplay is split into different genres, which are not consistently enjoyable. The puzzle sections are great, and are fairly well designed. The dungeon crawling is pretty dull, and the action sections are clunky but somewhat enjoyable. The weird minion management system feels pretty tacked on, and the upgrades system is pretty poorly telegraphed. I bought several new weapons but the game just wouldn't let me equip them. Maybe I'm dumb, or maybe the game bugged out, but my weapons just disappeared so I was stuck with the basic shot the whole time. There were a lot of problems like that, where communication just felt off. This game has a neat idea, but just feels too messy and is only sometimes fun. It's got enough fun moments and charm to keep it from getting a lower score, but eh. It's jank, it's messy, and it's kinda cool. It also didn't take too long or overstay it's welcome.

not fun. aesthetics are still good, but i found none of the gameplay parts even remotely fun in the slightest. puzzle was insulting, rpg was boring, and action was tedious. its very experimental, but it remains a spinoff for a good ass reason
