was promised to be like operation outbreak but became a soulless cashgrab of half attempts at a video game, all they had to do is port operation outbreak and add new levels it was so good

Dommage que les 3/4 des connards sur ce jeu le confonde avec Call of

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I liked the concept of your operator being MIA or injured, so you have to use another one. Maybe I'll give it a go again somewhere down the line

rarely had so much fun playing a coop exclusive game !

This game had a lot of potential and unfortunately it ended up dying. I feel like if I had friends who were willing to play it I would've ending up playing it for about 10x as long as I did. I have always wanted a modern PvE campaign game with the mechanics of Rainbow Six Siege, this could've been it... but it wasn't. Now I don't think I will ever get that game.

Tried it with friends since it was added recently to PS+ Extra, but ultimately could not get into it or see the appeal. Maybe I'll give it another chance down the line.

Controversial Opinion: The only bad thing about this game is
1. Rainbow Six Siege players are siege players.
2. They didn't like it.
3. Ubisoft wont lose anymore money on a game the public liked, but siege players don't want.

This game is actually somewhat difficult and fun, specially with friends or if you're a new rainbow six player, cuz there's a lot to learn. Not a 5 star solely because Ubisoft basically abandoned the game when Rainbow Siege Players did. Besides that, there's nothing wrong with the game except for the fact that now we wont be getting new maps, enemies or events to keep it engaging. It will be good, for the first 40-50 hours until everything starts repeating itself.

Doesn’t really do anything revolutionary or worth playing over Siege, honestly.

‣ Final notes: If you played the Outbreak event on Rainbow Six Siege a few years ago this won’t look any different to you in fact I would say this spin-off is a weaker cousin of the event we saw. Nothing here is new. If you have a good chunk of hours on Rainbow Six Siege, like myself any gameplay that you will see here won’t be new to you. Honestly there are good ideas here and there, but everything you see in the first 2 to 3 hours is what you will keep seeing later. Enemies get boring quick, spores that blind you 15 seconds later become a nuisance. The progression is slow and does not award you with anything fun besides unlocking some operators that you already know way too well. Playing this game solo is possible, but just like me you will find it rather depressing to play alone. I believe that this game is more fun with a couple of friends but good luck getting anyone who would like a tactical zombie shooter. That’s the other problem. Rainbow Six: Extraction relays heavily on tactics and stealth, you can’t just go in guns blazing, I mean you can, but you will be heavily punished implying that stealth is the right way to play this game. Overall, I think this game could’ve been more enjoyable if it was more narratively driven and not just a boring lore dump on meaningless information in the codex menu. And it is sad to see a game that has been delayed and in development for at least three years just recycle literally every asset from Rainbow Six Siege. If you just reused every possible asset, then might as well just make this an event again instead of a fully priced game. Rainbow Six: Extraction could’ve been a better game if it had drastically different gameplay, maybe even a turned based system like in XCOM.

Don’t understand why people dislike it. Pretty fun when you get a successful extraction, but brain dead teammates are prone to mess things up

A three player co-op spin off of Rainbow Six Siege where many of the playable characters of Siege fight against an alien threat. Not at all what I would want out of the franchise or made from Siege that has some of the best feeling shooting in a video game, but not that bad. Varied enemies, difficulties, character abilities, types of missions mixing stealth/defense/rescue/etc, good location variety, good visual style, unlockable modes that offer more difficult but rewarding consecutive missions.

Not all characters seem that useful. Not that much staying power as the mission types will start to get repetitive. The experience system just seems like an afterthought that doesn't work well as getting basic abilities or weapon unlocks from level 1-10 can keep you from being on the level of your friends, you can rank characters up fairly quickly, and you can lose XP if you lose all your health and are unable to rescue a character in a new playthrough of the level but your XP is save from dropping when you reach 10 and you can just put it on a lower difficulty for a rescue. It feels like it wanted to make death and needing to get into a desperate extraction situation as a major source of gameplay but it never really matters much. Ranking up your intel for new gadget unlocks ends up mostly being following generic objectives that are unlocked in sets of three that force you to play the same area again and again as you try to complete them.

It can be fun for a bit but unlikely to hold interest for long for you or two other friends willing to try it out, and it was just a strange thing to have done with the series in the first place.

Siege suffered a lack of new content for this?

How can you make a game worse than the Siege event it was based on. You literally just had to copy Left 4 Dead - like the event did. What is this?

Thought this was going to be like outbreak but got disappointed quickly.

you know what its actually quite an interesting game but it feels a little dull and repetitive certainly fun for a bit especially if you've played r6

Rainbow Six Siege with aliens

played only to get the outfits lmao

This is tough to judge. This feels like Rainbow Six Siege, but there are alien AI enemies. I think with a group, this could be really fun, and I enjoy watching people who are good play Siege. However, Siege is not for me. I had fun with it, but I don't have the patience to really enjoy it.

The latest entry in Ubisoft's Rainbow Six series... If you don't count Rainbow Six Mobile. But why'd you count Rainbow Six Mobile?

Rainbow Six Extraction is an FPS horror tactical shooter inspired by the more popular Outbreak event that took place during Operation Chimera in Rainbow Six Siege, this game's older brother. Loosely inspired by GTFO, this game is really one of a kind: you'll never find another game that plays exactly like Extraction.

Story-wise, Extraction takes place after the event of Outbreak, as the Chimera virus puts the whole country on lockdown. Team Rainbow's efforts to contain the pandemic are uniquely told through environmental storytelling, though this element is not as intuitive as in other games with this element such as SWAT 4, as you can hold F when you see the prompt near those elements and the game will spoon feed you everything. Otherwise, the plot is surprisingly well written and we can appreciate the semi-realism of the scientific side of the game that's seen in all the labs scattered around in the game.

Gameplay-wise, Extraction has a fatal flaw that made it end up as forgotten as it is: while it tries to shift away from the competitive side of Siege, bringing back mechanics like quick leaning; to create something that reminds me a lot of Rainbow Six Vegas 2's terrorist hunt mode, at the same times thematically the enemies you face are the complite opposite of that, being all sci-fi alien zombies that'll mindlessly run towards you to make it easier for you to shoot them in the head when you're detected, completely ruining the immersion created beforehand.

This game should've never existed as an entity outside of Siege, I think it'd have fit WAY more as a game mode even if we sacrificed the story, as the gunplay is exact same as it is in the game, with the exception of silencers functioning in a different way. Something that Outbreak showed was irrelevant years ago. Instead, Extraction plays like a less competitive terrorist hunt game mode for Siege that you have to pay for. I actually think the current, slower gameplay Siege offers would've made an Extraction game mode more appealing and it'd have helped the immersion a lot more.

As its final update arrives, one can only be sad at the potential Extraction had, potential that sadly was never met. This is not a game I suggest buying.

why is there no solo mechanic, i have no friends and cant progress the story.

I was hyped for this game since its was announced in 2019 needless to say based of my rating it was a massive disappointment

Breachers? Smashers? Spikers? I hardly know her!

Interesting concept but extremely poorly executed.
