A few months ago I found a burned disc that was full of images that were taken around 2008, from my mom's phone.
Among the pictures of me and my family as children, was a downloaded image of the box art for Transformers: The Game for the PlayStation®2. I have no idea why, but I saw it as a sign that I had to pick this up.
It's..not good.
The first mission is fun and I liked the idea of running around this city grabbing collectables but the second mission very quickly wore me away and off this game for good.
The camera sucks. It's too low in car mode, and it's too slow.
The game actively lies to you by telling you that certain buttons do one thing when they literally don't do that, doesn't give you a proper tutorial despite this (either tell us what all the buttons do or don't tell us anything) and throws you right into the deep end by telling you to shoot cars, destroy Decepticons, and get to a place on the map it doesn't show you all in the same mission.
This is the second level in the whole game.
Fuck that, and fuck you.
No wonder Tt Games just went back to Lego games after this.

Oh boy I remember the PS2 times when I was so obsessed with Transformers... For me this game brings me so many memories of me discovering how to use the shield, learning shortcuts, at the time we weren't able to get a newer console so while all my friends were playing other games in Xbox 360, there I was, playing this game until 2012... As much as I like this game, however, there are some flaws, like the rushed history, the lack of playable characters, history gaps, it would be a 5 if they took the time to polish up things...
I bought this game for PS2 after debating whether to go for the PS2 or PSP Version. I really nice Game employee helped me decide. I played it for 2 hours and didn't like it. When you're a kid, you don't understand when a game is just bad and I thought I wasnt enjoying it properly. I returned it, and the same person was there, and remembered helping me choose. They gave me an exchange to the PSP version, despite the PS2 version being opened. I remember that very fondly.
Anyway, the PSP version was worse. So much worse. So bad it isn't even avalible to list as a platform on this website.
