I got 422 stars while getting all stars in 8 games (including Remix 1). You need 759 stars (rainbow) to unlock all levels and that may be something I do in the future but I just wanted to play some of it since I didn't play much of it as a kid. If you grew up with NES games then I'm sure the challenges won't be anything special or hard to complete but as someone who's only familiar with the Mario games, some of these challenges are difficult to complete, let alone get 3 stars. This version is a handful of challenges pulled from NES Remix 1 and 2 from the Wii U so it may be best to get those versions for the full experience. While I do like some of the remix challenges, this is a very hard game overall but I understand why it's a good game for some people. I would like to see Nintendo do a SNES Remix!
This game is pretty fun. I get to do things in old NES games that you would never be able to do and that's cool. But a lot of the best part of this game is locked behind doing little tasks in those same NES games and that just becomes less fun because I don't like having to do smaller things to unlock the thing I actually want to do.
I finished every single mission in the game and I think that it is a super cool idea to make challenges of NES titles into a mash-up video game. What would make this game much better is if you could play the games that they had for real, but then that would take away from the virtual console so I guess it makes sense. I enjoyed all the missions and loved it when it first came out when you could compete with others. A great game that is fun to replay, just not as good as it could be.
Now that's a weird game... really fun, though! The first remixes are fairly simple challenges, but don't be fooled, some of the challenges can be really crazy in creativity and difficulty. A SNES remix would be really nice. You can't really have a normal playthrough of the games listed, which is unfortunate, but I guess that's not really why you'd play this game.

Perfect to play in small bursts, NES Remix varies in all directions, from fun to frustrating to deeply clever, and does a great job of capturing the overall play experiences of each remixed title as it begins to throw curve balls at you.
If you don't like the component games, this title won't make you feel differently about them. But for those who either love Nintendo's NES catalog, or have always curiously desired to approach it, NES Remix is a fun way to see what each title has to offer without having to leap in headfirst.

Ultimate NES Remix was a very fun time killer. It served as a 3DS version of NES Remix 1 & 2 from the Wii U as one big compilation. Now of course, there are some omissions from this game such as the various NES sports games, Urban Champion, Clu Clu Land, and even Wario's Woods. But I think it was a great move since it was both boring to go through those and with Wario's Woods case, too confusing to understand.
The modes from the Wii U versions return in Ultimate being Super Luigi Bros., where you can play through SMB1 as Luigi mirrored, and the Championships mode, a score based mode between SMB1, SMB3, and Dr. Mario together. But one mode that appears if you get 3 stars in every stage is the Famicom mode. This is essentially the same game again but with the Famicom system instead, which is a neat bonus, but not worth playing the game again for.

Got 3 Stars on every level and unlocked Famicom Remix! But apparently getting Rainbow 3 Stars on every level gets you two more levels and that’s definitely not worth it! But I really enjoyed this fun love letter to the NES. And it’s so easy to pick up and play whenever. I’ll probably continue to play this casually in the future.
A cool and inventive way to repackage old NES games and add something new to them. This series being on 3DS really suits it best, because it's where the bite-sized levels can shine. This being a combination for the first and second games on Wii U is great too since that means you get the best of the best game selection. I got close to 100% and rainbow starred most levels and gold starred every one except bonus stages 27 and 28, which I skipped out on after seeing I would need to rainbow star every level (possible, but more time than I care to spend).
Can't really go wrong with this one though, if you're interested.
I hate Dr. Mario.
