An incredible ending that elevates the whole game

" No more crying. Smile. My wrath...is finally.."

A fraction of my pain subsides whilst venturing through this DLC package. It contains three critical ingredients to make itself enjoyable. Two of these are extras, just fun battle missions against Ryu and Akuma from the Street Fighter franchise. Bombastically frantic, as it fills the hype gauges of my soul. These brief interactions gobsmack me across my face and bring a grin, something I thought was lost into the nexus. The most crucial portion of this DLC though is a mixed bag. The proper ending of the game sold as extra content, neither washes away those previous sins nor feels satisfying enough to be worth that hallowing price. The closure I sought was given, yet the wounds inflicted do not so simply heal. Forevermore, I limp from the blind-sighted attack on my goodwill and love for games. The greatest salvation of all? Maximillion's boss rage to remind me laughter can exist in my puny mortal world. A consolation if anything.

No seal awarded

It should not have been DLC. But if i treat it as if it was part of the main game, it's an amazing ending.

10/10, The Final Boss fight is one of my favorite Final Boss Fights of All Time and the Final Punch to defeat the Main Villain is so Good i felt like Asura

how fucking dare they lock this masterpiece behind DLC. this should have been in the base game.

this is so cool. every fight is incredible and it's so much better an ending than just... killing Vlitra.

it also has the best input in the game, fist bumping your brother.

Much better ending than the base game

This DLC is 100 percent necessary. It contains the real final boss to the game. I want to knock it for being a necessary part to the story and having to pay additional money for it, but it contains some of the most interesting fights in the game. It all absolutely was the same quality as the base game.

Making this a DLC causes so many issues from a value perspective. It cheapens the climax of the overall story by disconnecting it, its an incredibly weak DLC offering to just have "a piece of the story". Its just a bad idea.

This was really good! Although it is INSANE this was DLC. It's literally the actual ENDING of the game. The final boss has such an amazing design, there are some pretty good sequences in that fight too. The other boss battle was also really nice!! If there's ever any type of sequel or remake I'd like the combat to have a bit more death.

Yeah its a DLC so what, its literally the best thing ever made and really finishes everything here, I am not angry anymore, just happy :)

why the fuck was this DLC? This wraps up the story completely with a nice bow.

Make no mistake, this is the ending that the base game Asura's Wrath was intended to have. The extra time allotted to its delay shows - framerates and texture loading are more consistent than in the base game, and the creativity and utility of QTEs are elevated to the game's best.

Even without context, the boss fights in this game are insanely entertaining. If you ever wanted to punch through the moon so you could uppercut God in the chin, this is your time.

Visually, the game drops the sci-fi aesthetic of the base game in favor of more Hindu and original imagery, and is all the stronger for it. Many games feature "kill god" as the setting of their finale, but few feel as earned and full of surreal cosmic splendor as this one.

For an old game on old systems, don't expect this DLC to be around forever. If you have even the slightest interest, you owe it to yourself to experience the true ending of Asura's Wrath.

(Bonus cameo by Chun Li!)

Initially set as the basis of a sequel, Asura's Wrath found itself underperforming commercially and lead to its planned follow up being sold as a 4-chapter DLC encompassing the story's 4th act. Various other DLC chapters were also sold, ranging from interquel chapters to battles against Ryu and Akuma, but this is the biggest piece of extra content available, and consequently, the one that drew the most ire. This was in the era of Capcom's on-disc DLC and blatantly gutting features or additions from games to make an extra buck, so for a game's true ending to be locked to DLC was seen as especially egregious, even when taking the circumstances behind the decision into account.

But holy shit, this legitimately elevates the quality of a game I already quite enjoyed by that much. The most insane finale to a title I've seen thus far, and one I can recommend to anyone curious for the wow factor alone.

Asura and Yasha <3

If Asura's Wrath had ended where it had with nothing to follow it up it would've been good with some fun ideas and ambitions but lacking the final punch that I think an action series, film or story really needs to end on.

This DLC is that punch.

This DLC goes harder than anything else within the main game. Using QTE's in interesting and extremely creative ways. The QTE final punch with Yasha that never ends, extending your hand to god, the final QTE fight where the game itself is trying to out-QTE YOU. It takes the entire form of the entire thing. All of its ideas and ambitions and lofty goals and elevates them to such a degree that it feels like you're punching the developers in the face in order to give Mithra a happy ending.

It sucks total ass that they locked this behind DLC you have to pay for, that shit is genuinely criminal because this DLC is what makes Asura's Wrath (as good as it gets before this) the best shit it could possibly be. This cemented it in the same place for me as something like Redline or something. Playing with the medium and the form to do something fucking bombastic. To go all the fuck out.

If you play Asura's Wrath you HAVE to play this it's non-negotiable. Not only because it's the real ending but because it's a stellar way to end a game like this. Absolute masterclass shit.

Niggas will get emotional over a fist bump and an angry dad fucking up a Primordial God for making his daughter cry ITS ME IM NIGGAS

Why is the best part/true ending a dlc??

THE GAME LITERALLY DO A QTE AGAINST YOU, WTF

Kind of annoying that this is part of the main story and costs extra. But other then that it’s still just as incredible.

Sim, realmente é criminoso o final verdadeiro do jogo ser uma DLC PAGA

Dito isso, PUTA QUE PARIU, que final maravilhoso,

Shouldve been in the main game but its one of the best dlcs ever.
