Too many fond memories and fun had with DK64 to rate it any lower, even now knowing how buggy and flawed it was. Loved unlocking all the Kongs and upgrading them as the game went on, and I couldn't get enough of collecting stuff. Outside of Gloomy Galleon(water world go figure), there wasn't any other world that I hated going through. The final segment in K. Rool's Keep and the final fight were highlights as well.

i've been on the same fucking save file since i was 11 years old and i still haven't beaten the game this shit kinda sucks

you take a barrel full of monkeys and you make it boring

i'm replaying this to cleanse my palate after the mess that was FFVIIR and i swear this game just brings out people's inner vacuum cleaners. there's so much about this just fucking sucks, but i still revisit it every now and then because i can't deny the juicy nasty dopamine i get from collecting everything in a level. if you got rid of all of the awful parts of this game you'd probably be left with only 65% of this game, but that's still passing, baby.

Does it have too many collectables? Sure does, but still a fun title regards.

My childhood. Words can't describe what this game means to me. Grant Kirkhope's music makes my heart swell when I listen to it even now. Just playing this game illicits feelings from me that nothing else really can.

I was far too young and dumb to get anywhere through the story but the local co-op is fucking hilarious.

You can only play as 5 apes, not 64 as the title suggests. Would be a lot better if the game wasn't a backtracking slog

A pretty fun game with a ton of charm, but there is so much bloat with the colored bananas and blueprints, it's really unnecessary and just wastes your time. I never finished the game due to it.

Get mario 64 as a base and more things to collect... and more things... and more things... add extra character with their own things to collect... that's really the game, it was not a bad game but the repetition can get to you real fast if you don't like that sort of game. It took me a while to finish because of burnout but it was a fun ride. Ooooohh Banana!

What a nostalgia trip! After my first time playing this and actually beating it, I feel so proud! So much fun. And so charming. (The full 101% run is totally worth it)

I'd say it's a 3/5, but I gave it a little extra for the DK rap

kandi has awesome knee slappers

I was just shy of full completion but short some haunted house bananas. Spent hours hunting for them but it turned out you had to get a simple puzzle incorrect to get those last 4 bananas, as a consolation prize. I'm still in a huff about it 20 years later.

Pretty unexciting game overall though I did love the Rambi minigame and the Donkey Kong arcade port.

i 101%ed this game both as a child and while unemployed and depressed at age 25, and i think it made things worse. it's messy and all-over-the-place, and not in the good way like Banjo-Tooie.

Incorporating character specific collectibles and abilities for the entire Kong clan means having to do a full scouring of each level five times. Retracing your steps four more times back to back after already seeing the vast majority of the level feels very, very bad. If you don't obsess over full completion, it's still a pretty good time, and the hate bandwagon that has developed for this game in recent years is unwarranted.

A good non-linear 3D platformer. There are big levels to explore and you'll need to utilize the various abilities of the five Kongs in order to get everything. There are flaws, though. The boss fights aren't that good, for one. There's also at least a couple points in the game where you'll have no idea what to do. Overall though, it's worth playing.

Yeah, there's just way too much. Still has the joys of a Rare platformer, but this game feels most like chores more often than any other game. I mean, I obviously liked it enough to 101% it so...

Aged like a banana in the hot sun

This is at the point where people should have realized that Rare can't make 3D Platformers without bloat.

Kind of a chore, but I remembered this as actually worse than it was. Tighter in scope than Banjo-Tooie, a pretty fun/unique excursion. The characters play differently in fun ways, and there's some pleasant art direction in this game.

this is the definitive title if you wanna hate and love something at the same time

Basically got to where the last zone or whatever, but I wanted to get all 50 blueprints. I only had a few of those left to get, but they were too hard.
