SORA 4 SMASH (YES HE DID IT LETS FKING GO) - also playing One Winged Angel in a game that also has Let it Go and Under the Sea in seems really wrong.

Edit: Amazing expansion to the end of 3! Also there are like 4 different ways the next game can go now after the endings of both this and Limit Cut so I cannot wait to see where the series goes next!!

Not as good as Theatrhythm but it is a music game. Some of the maps are really fun, others, well, are not. Some feel like they're hard to be hard. Not only that, the moving screen always distracts me during a song. I can get full chains, whatever, but it makes it harder to clear missions sometimes.

also the missions are annoying since some have to be on the hardest difficulty. I am bad at music games so that bums me out.

Also there is some story stuff because, well, okay I guess?

It is a fine game. All I can really say shrug

Not a big rhythm game fan but this was fun. Just having a collection of KH music is great.

It's fun! Will it blow your mind? Assuredly not, but that does not mean that it is not a lighthearted, enjoyable experience. This is pretty squarely for people who love Kingdom Hearts, and there is not a ton here if you aren't in that camp. The roster of songs is large, but it does not have many (if any, other than the title screen) remixes. It is all the original music, with the 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 models running across the same original worlds.
Don't buy this at 60, but if you find it for like 20? Yea, go ahead!

A ton of replayability, I was in the mood for a rhythm game when this came out and I was playing it daily for a good while.

The small amount of story in this game shifted me from being wary of what Tetsuya Nomura is planning on doing with the character of Yozora and the world he comes from, to having total faith in where the series is going.

Believe it or not, with this game and the ending of the mobile game which was actually somehow good, the story of Kingdom Hearts is the most engaging it's ever been.

Neat and fun recap to the series at large and that's all it really needed to be... it's been a while since I first played the games and it really helped rekindle my love for them

EXCEPT why does Kairi still not get a proper role despite appearing to be the main focus of the game please Nomura she deserves so much better

i love kingdom hearts music so much and yoko shimomura is a goddess

A very fun rhythm game that hugely benefits from the amazing tracks throughout the KH franchise. There's a few little nagging issues I have, like the lack of a story throughout the game, or how the final boss fight plays out. Would have easily been a 4.5 star review if they had included a Team Destiny (Sora, Riku, Kairi)

I love rhyme games, and I love Kingdom Hearts, so this was a match made in heaven. The gameplay is fresh and nice to look at for a rhythm game, and it covers almost every song in the series, minus the Tarzan level and Pirates of the Caribbean Levels. Wasn't a fan of how they handled the Kingdom Hearts III levels but oh well, I still loved it.

kingdom hearts as a whole has a really good soundtrack so this game was pretty cool to have but putting major story beats into the ending of a rhythm game is a very nomura thing to do lol

Despite being a perfect rhythm game for the series at its core, Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory pulls a shocking amount of punches.

Fijn om in bad te spelen. Ik mis sommige tracks wel. Vooral een zwaar gebrek aan KH3 tracks.

For a game I got for $20 (AUD).... not bad. For a full price $90 (AUD) game? HAHAHA don't even bother.

This is a pretty poorly designed rhythm game. The rhythm patterns chosen swap between the melody, percussion, and really any other instrument parts at random, while the visuals don't properly telegraph these changes to the player. Often times I found myself having to guess what rhythm the game expected me to play as the game is completely unable to communicate specific rhythms to the player. There are also occasionally times where the background visuals are too flashy to the point it actually decreases the visibility of the notes. I could go on and on about the poor design of this rhythm game but if you've read this much, I think you've got my point.

The game is pretty easy, however, even on proud mode the entire way through. As it is really only a challenge in the very final stage of the world tour (albeit a poorly designed challenge), you might say the poor design is somewhat forgivable. That said, I still think it's a pretty poorly designed rhythm game.

The story content... it's a nice tease I guess. You can get everything you need from a short YouTube video.

Honestly I'd say you're better off getting a better rhythm game and just watching the story content online. I'm glad I played it but I wouldn't have paid more than $20 for it.

P.S. I had a much longer review typed out but I'm stupid and accidentally deleted it all so this is the abridged version.

I really didn’t know what exactly to expect with this spinoff. I knew going in that it’d have a big soundtrack, but looking at the Persona rhythm games it’s easy to be wary of a developer lazily botching it with poor timings or boring note maps. Instead, what Melody of Memory delivered was one of the most unique rhythm game experiences I’ve played. Though the characters are running on a note path and the large cast of heartless, nobodies, and unversed serve as the “notes”, the animations and different moves and attacks make it look like you are actually playing Kingdom Hearts to the music. The few boss battles in the game are really outstanding as well. Square Enix really outdid themselves going the extra mile to make this a replayable and nostalgic recap of the series.

fun little rhythm game to waste some time in

I SHOULDN'T BE ENJOYING THIS SO MUCH

didnt care for the rhythm game aspect as it had enough displeasures. no kingdom hearts game would be a kingdom hearts game if they didnt shove some random important lore down your throat at the last possible second and man, is this a horrid attempt at doing so. once again attempting to force kairi into this main character role all the while they: did not give her any more importance, 98% of "her" game is her recapping the entire kh timeline, and at the end was again shoved to the side for riku's character development. i dont even hate kairi. and i love rhythm games! but jesus.. this was bad.

Nostalgic game but you get tired after a while, I think it's totally bullshit that you need to play the entire game to get new canon lore to the series but that's just kh at it's normal state at this point

Yup. That was a Kingdom Hearts Rhythm game alright

I'm sure this game is fine but I only booted it up to get the bonus song for Smash Ultimate.
