Imagine being Smash Bros right now. Rollback and wavedashing, and you get to main Nigel. My call is that Squidward will be a fighter.

oh god this being published by the publisher of big rigs lol

incredibly stupid, and i mean that in the best way. all we need now is good dlc characters and a voice update

All these Nickelodeon characters and they didn't even get the only one that mattered. It's like my father always used to say; "Give me XJ9 or give me death!"

edit: we won

This game doesn't have any mighty b rep in it and that's unforgivable

I played the arcade mode twice and like, I still am having a hard time figuring out how it's different from just playing a random cpu match, and I played like an hour of the online play, and I feel like I've experienced everything I'll get out of this game. I've only played as korra so far and I intend on keeping it that way because she's the only character that looks fun. Her moveset is mostly just "lul no, fuck you" and I mean disrespecting with her moves on online was fun I guess, but over all this game really just needed more development time. And more server space evidently because I only experienced one lag free match and had one match completely die on me while playing online.

Cartoon Network Punchtime Explosion is by far the better game, even if its gameplay may not be as good. It has a fun story mode where all the characters you know and love act in character and interact with one another which is the point of a crossover, and it has a much larger roaster and even has weird terrible minigames during its story mode, like at least that game felt like it had some thought put into it.

This game, while it is fun to constantly deny the other player doing anything as Korra, sucks. There's nothing to do in it, you don't unlock any characters, you don't unlock any extra features that matter, literally the only reason this game exists is for the raw gameplay, which makes no sense considering this is a game that is a crossover of a bunch of beloved characters and Oblina, who gives a shit about the gameplay, I'm here for spongebob, but nothing "spongebob" happens in this game, there's some stages based on spongebob, spongebob and patrick and sandy are in the game, but there isn't anything spongebob about those elements, especially since there isn't cutscenes or unlockable conversations or some shit, listen man I just want to see the funny characters be funny.

Idk, I spent an hour and a half in this game and only as one character and I already feel like I got out of the game everything I'm gonna get out of it.

This plays quite nice! It’ll really be something if they can ever get voices in here but for now Catdog is GOAT.

What we have here is the age old classic. What the game does is excellent, the gameplay is fast and frenetic and the online systems/netcode puts most games to shame. They basically make up the skeleton of the game and it's a good skeleton. The problem now is to put meat on the bones Nickelodeon needs to pump money into this bitch.

Shit like single player modes, voice acting, better presentation etc aren't necessarily easy to implement (game dev is hard) but it's probably much easier to do so versus reworking the gameplay because it's trash or implementing good netcode (see every delay based game that transitioned to rollback)

So that's where this game stands. It's launch so there's plenty of people to play and on my SSD matches load near instantaneously and the rematch button makes getting put into another match just as fast. The game's cool and I hope it gets long term support, perhaps a sequel (that awful karting game got a sequel to redeem itself), to realize its potential and not just become another Playstation All Stars Battle Royale.

aw hell nah spunchbop got that goofy goober combo

About to 0 to death everyone with Garfield

Decent gameplay but it lacks enough skins to actually differentiate players, voice acting, and side content which makes it feel lackluster. Also the roster feels a bit too biased towards the 90s and lacks a lot of early 2000s series.

fuera de joda, está bastante bien ngl

I feel like this game has a lot of potential, I mean a platform fighter with Nickelodeon characters would obviously have a lot of potential for entertainment, but as it stands this game feels pretty barren in regards to content. (Not talking the roster but rather what's available overall.)

It took me a bit to adjust to the controls but after a little bit I think I got the basics down at least. I really just wish there was more to everything. I feel like the lack of casual items (at least for singleplayer play) is a missed opportunity. Even Cartoon Network Punchtime Explosion, a far inferior Smash Clone, had items that also provided a sense of universal presence from the many shows aired on its broadcast.

Arcade Mode isn't much to write home about personally, not as good as your traditional Classic Mode, but it's decent for what it is. Local Battles aren't very interesting when you're the only friend you have because your parents forcefully moved you to the state of Florida taking you away from your friends and abusing you emotionally on a regular basis. Online Battles are ok, but with most online fighter battles they lack the charm of playing with a friend in your/their living room.

I kind of wish this game had an adventure mode, I know not everybody is into that type of thing, but it'd definitely have given this game some well needed content.

Good game overall, I hope it doesn't instantly die when Sora comes out.

(3 days after release) It needs a lot of refinement, fixes, balance and more competitive stages, but i don't mind the visuals, the gameplay groundbase, while I prefer miles more a Melee/ProjectM, it's much much better than Ultimate and the developers don't actively want to kill the scene.
So from a competitive pov, is gonna be a thumbs up in half a year when it costs 20 bucks and the mayor stuff is fixed, but right now if you have some friends playing and you don't mind the high price I'm not gonna tell you "don't".

if Hugh neutron isn't in this we riot

edit: we did it, boys.

If I can't play as Bill Cosby I'm not buying

Here's how Garfield can still get in

EDIT: what did i say fellas

powdered toast man sucks in this game and i cant be more disappointed by that

Honestly a lot of fun. Character balance still needs tweaking (Catdog and Oblina are absurd right now while Patrick really drew the short straw) and there is absolutely nothing there but gameplay (Single player is for sure lacking, no voice acting at all, Arcade is just fights with no variety), but the gameplay that is there is a load of fun.

Hoping updates may address some of the issues I have with this game, but most of them are Viacom's fault. Mods help, but mods aren't what you score a base game on.

It's pretty much what you'd expect this to be. I'd say the character roster is pretty good, the actual fighting mechanics are pretty solid, and the fighter's models are pretty great; the challenge of transitioning a 2D character to 3D is very hard so I like to applaud it when it's done pretty well.

The only downside this game has is its price and its presentation. For starts this game should not cost 50 dollars; I'd say 20 or 30 would fit better.
The presentation however is the biggest fault this game has. some licensed games can hide their licensed stink very well, this game can't. This game looks really really cheap.

Overall if you like platform fighters I'd say this game is worth you're time, just wait for a discount.

So the gameplay is actually pretty fun. It gets most of what I like about Super Smash Bros Melee and other clones (minus the lack of back air, which I've sort of adapted to, and the lack of dash dancing, which I really hope gets added in the future). It's fast paced and with tons of great combo potential, so I couldn't ask for much more on that frontier.

That said, it is very clearly lacking a lot of features and polish on other ends. The graphics are serviceable I'd say; they're not especially hideous, but they look sort of comparable to a Gamecube game at times, and could use a bit of touching up. The soundtrack is just not memorable, and really could use some licensed tracks from other Nickelodeon franchise video games/original shows. The sound design is also a bit lacking; I can't recall any specific character sound effects that you would expect from Smash games/clones, and the lack of voice overs or any voice lines at all from characters makes the game feel a little lifeless at times.

A few other things; there's no stats page, so I can't tell how many games I've won online or how many games I've played locally. Sort of a minor gripe, but I don't think that's asking for much. Arcade mode is extremely barebones; you just fight 7 characters across 7 stages and they spout lines of text before the fight starts with fairly little fanfare otherwise. There are no alternate character skins/colors so different players using the same characters are only distinguished with the tag above; this does feel a little lazy, considering Smash 64 had alternate colors. Online ranked kind of sucks and I can't tell how the matching algorithm works or how I rank in comparison to others/my friends/the world. Also related to online; rollback netcode means that the game's online is generally as lag-free as possible, but if you get matched with people playing online that are on Wi-Fi instead of wired (and I ran into plenty), it's extremely excruciating to either have to suffer through those matches on moon physics lag, or quit those laggy matches and lose ranking score because there's no way to account for this happening. I don't know how this specific problem would be addressed, but I do hope that Ludosity becomes aware of this at least.

With all that out of the way, I don't actually regret my purchase because this game is that much fun to play, especially with friends you know. Ludosity has mentioned further polishing the game and adding more DLC characters (the answer to the question: what happened to Jimmy Neutron, Fairly OddParents, Hey Arnold from Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, etc) if this game gets more attention and support. Considering the amount of hubbub it's gotten from both Nickelodeon fans and players who like Smash clones, I'll remain cautiously optimistic that some of the flaws and missing features I've mentioned above get addressed and patched up, in which case I would be more than happy to improve my rating on this game.

Frankly, this game is fun as fuck, but it needs some major work

This game is an extreme amount of fun, but as others have noted lacks polish within the gameplay and in the menus. This being said, it's very enjoyable to sit down and knock out a few games as Reptar in 10 minutes then get back to my life. Probably not worth the price point, but a good use of time.

It lacks polish but it’s a very fun Smash clone. I wish there was a bit more to it, like some kind of story mode or extra gameplay modes, but it’s still surprisingly fun. With a few patches here and there and DLC, this could be a very fun Smash clone

Fun and competitive smash clone that's really lacking in polish

look, I commend the effort but the Melee community literally reverse engineered a fucking gamecube game just so they could add rollback netcode to it, all while Nintendo have tried at multiple points to fucking eradicate their community.

I do not know why anyone would think Powdered Toast Man with no voicelines and royalty free Spongebob soundalike songs could stop them from playing Melee
