Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team was the game always found in my GBA and later in the DS bottom slot. I must have completed this dungeon crawler a dozen times and I enjoyed every single playthrough.

As dungeon crawlers go, Mystery Dungeon is rather basic and not overly challenging. However, for the intended age range and as an entry in the Pokémon franchise, Red Rescue Team holds up remarkably well.

The music is strong, the dungeons all have a unique aesthetic, and the main storyline is good: nothing exceptional, but deeper than most Pokémon games.

Personally, I like Pokemon adjacent games more than the main games and this is no exception. Playing as a Pokemon in a dungeon crawling game with a decent story was enjoyable. Gameplay is semi-turn based and combat takes place in a grid style and happens in real time. Picking pokemon for your team is as important as in the main games.

This game is bliss in a 8-16mb cartridge.

Aiming for 100% completion was a mistake

An absolutely great game that made me cry at the end.

Refreshing adventure, it felt sentimental at the time.

pretty fun dungeon crawler that happens to have one of the most heartfelt storys in pokemon and a soundtrack that rivals the best in the medium

Fantastic game, one of my favourites for sure. Play this instead of the remake as Friend Zones are far better than the system they use in the remake, and you can also do neutral attacks here. A very good entry point into Mystery Dungeon games

Pick pikachu as your battery partner that dies in one hit to every enemy in the main campaign and have them call u a hoe.

I lent this to my friend in elementary school and then he lost the fucking cartridge.

Played this as a kid, didn't understand how it worked and dropped it.

Crazy story, my friend wanted to borrow this when I was a kid, I said nah my parents won't allow it. He offered me 4 or 5 games just to borrow this for a week and you know I said yes to that lmao. Feel bad about it now, but not back then.

unironically the best pokemon game. made me cry as a kid.

remember loving this as a kid. need to play it again though. same with Explorers of Sky.

Probably the first game to make me cry .

Chunsoft's Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team is the culmination of their efforts to make a fun and accessible Rogue-Like

The best of the Pokemon spin-off franchises. The Rescue Team games aren't as strong as later entries, but laid a solid foundation. The soundtrack makes me cry.

baller video game, explorers is better but this one is still my favorite cuz i got nostalgia bias.

The start of one of the most enjoyable Pokemon spin off series in existence. Fun dungeon crawling gameplay mixed with stellar music and spritework makes this an all round amazing package.

THE OST IS BETTER ON THE GBA, THIS IS SIMPLY THE TRUTH OF THE WORLD

they told me I could be anything, so I became a Bulbasaur.

Cool twist on the original expectations of the pokemon series and certainly not the game I expected to be playing when I was 10

Pretty fun game. not as good as the sequel

Jugarlo miles y miles de veces te insensibiliza. y eso que es el comienzo del spin off. Mas el post game es puro es muy enredado, y no hay mucho que hacer.

Touchant. Le meilleur jeu Pokémon existant.

It's not a great game, but where else will a six year old be a Mudkip?
