This was an impulse buy for me and god I'm so glad.

WHY IS THIS GAME SO FUCKING HARD

Maybe it's because I'm bad but the difficulty even in the earlier sections seems a bit ridiculous? Like fighting a Salamence that does more than my HP in one hit.
Even ignoring that this just isn't a very fun game to play. I'll have to finish it at one point but it's way waaaayyy down my list.

Not as good as the Explorers games, but what is? This is a great entry in the PMD series, and while it's kind of aggressively difficult, I think it's worth it. I had a lot of fun with this game, and it's kind of fun seeing all the nods to the past games in the recruitment system. Speaking of, I really enjoyed the recruitment system, as well. I'm the sort of person who likes recruiting one of every Pokemon and no more, so it was nice to see a game that pandered to me specifically in that regard.

The cast itself was really fun and memorable, and the plot was pretty fun! It had some great twists and turns I genuinely didn't expect and some really good emotional moments, even if it didn't mess me up as bad as Explorers did. Especially that time you literally went to hell. God, I love Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.

I never did manage to finish the postgame, and maybe I'll do that someday. I don't know, I always have a hard time actually making it through the post-credits content in PMDs even if it's extremely plot relevant.

Hard But Hey, My 2nd PMD Game. And its Great!

This was more fun, but I don't know if I like the mystery dungeon gameplay.

Decent, and i'd like to go back and try it again sometime, but the gameplay wasn't really my thing

Sadly didn't do it for me, went into it fueled by Sky nostalgia but the game didnt grab me at all despite being very cute

A Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game that leans more into the "Mystery Dungeon" aspects: the difficulty is ramped up compared to Rescue Team and Explorers, and new roguelike elements come into play that help differentiate each run. The Connection Orb is an interesting way to change up the recruitment process, but it runs into conflict once you can evolve your Pokemon - why would I evolve if I lose the pre-evo and can recruit the evolution (sometimes earlier)?

I played this game on-again, off-again on account of the very slow start, but when the story picks up, it picks up. It never reaches the heights of Explorers, but as is PMD tradition, the story still finds a way to leave me a wreck at the end. My main complaint is that the story pacing is pretty inconsistent: slow start excepting, you're required to advance the story as it appears, which is often jarring when you're just getting into the flow of free time and can leave you underleveled at crucial points if you're not actively full-clearing dungeons. The difficulty is a notable change from prior games, but certain boss fights leave you with little margin for error if you didn't prepare for them beforehand. I'm ultimately glad they took a different tack to the systems for this game, but it didn't grab me as well as the first two games did.

Compared to the older games, the story for this one felt pretty lackluster. Also I don't like the friend system for this game, on some days the pokémon you want will just be unavailable and you're forced to choose someone else

Diferente, pra não falar outra coisa

Fun and filled with fanservice, but I didn't really like temporary evolutions or the shift to every party member basically being an established character.

doesn't reach the same heights as earlier games but enjoyable nonetheless

when you're running away or whatever i died and you can't get any more items so i just kinda got stuck. happened to be in the middle of a huuuuge spike in difficulty as well

far weaker start than pmd2 that goes on for a bit too long but eventually gets up to proper levels of quality after 7ish hours. there are a few moments in this game story-wise i think i like even more than similar moments in sky and it (mostly) plays better than sky but i still prefer sky because i haven't been that impressed with the music and visual direction of the series post-ds

also yeah, it's really difficult to ignore how weak this one starts whereas with sky it's not as hard to shrug off like 2-ish hours that isn't even at the very beginning

also also sky's postgame runs laps around this one's

Biggest gripe with this game is how the recruitment worked. Unlike before where you recruit Pokemon by defeating them in your dungeon run, you recruit Pokemon in this game through "Connections". Connections are made through a multitude of ways (completing missions, talking to them in the overworld, finding them in a dungeon), but the method is set per Pokemon. That also means you can only obtain one per species. It also kinda invalidates the need for evolution since their evolved forms are sure to be recruitable anyway as well.

another very enjoyable romp in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, even if it doesn't go quite as high as the Explorers games. occasionally it felt like they were going for a twist for the sake of having a twist and stuffing the later part of the story with a bunch of Legendary Pokemon was very annoying, but whatever. kind of wish that the dungeon music was more remarkable - even Gates to Infinity had more memorable dungeon music than Super, which is a shame because Super has some very good atmospheric music

that being said what was it with 3DS games and having a good chunk of the game being tutorial. shit should be illegal

I liked the game a bit, best gameplay in the series, but the story was a copy paste of Explorers in structure that I sort of saw a lot of plot points coming, and felt weak in that regard.

i liked it! not as much as dark/time/sky, but it was fun

Better than Gates to Infinity, but not as good as the Explorer games

Fuck the ending to this game
