dude the same game was sold four times

Well, I sure didn't have "mess up the story" on my Third Version bingo board...

this game is so boring and objectively gay

if i was there at gamefreak i simply would have dealt with this cashgrab

Underrated, played this many years after Moon when I'd forgotten most of it, and it was great fun! Tons of content, looks good, fun!

I cannot believe I paid full price for literally the same game but then actually finished. Pokemon sun was unfinished.

I spent about an entire year just constantly thinking about how much I hate this generation of Pokemon. It was so bad that it stopped me from ever even trying to play new games. Recently I spent 3 days to replay this game to see if it was really as bad as I thought it was, and it is. I hated so many aspects of this game that upon my last playthrough, I rediscovered a multitude of bad parts I had previously forgotten about. Even on an emulator with speed up, this game is an absolute slog to get thru, with no way to skip any cutscene no matter how big or small. The game tries to have emotional moments, but none of them feel earned because of how in-your-face the entire story is. The first time I played og Sun, I thought i liked Lillie. After just one replay of this region, I'm absolutely sick of even seeing her. Team Skull was also butchered for no reason other than to have the most obvious plot twist known to mankind, which is such a letdown since Guzma is one of, if not the best trainer design in the entire series. After XY and ORAS constructed the best online experience for Pokemon to date, for some ungodly reason they completely scrapped the PSS and replaced it with the Festival Plaza, which is one of my worst nightmares. One praise I do hold for this generation is that it added a lot of cool new Pokemon, but the game does absolutely everything in its power to make sure you don't use them because so many of them are so rare for no reason. Another sin that this game has is making the entire Rainbow Rocket arc postgame only. The marketing cleverly made it seem like it would be part of the main story, which is probably why so many people bought this game after already buying the original Sun/Moon. I've beaten this game twice and both times I was so burnt out from playing the main story that I could not be fucked to even try getting to the Rainbow Rocket story, which is a bummer since its probably the only thing that could've been worthwhile in this game. This game is so poorly put together and thought thru that it's turned me off from the future of Pokemon, because I see so many problems that originated from this game still seep into areas of SwSh, that I'm just done with this series, and this game is to blame.

The Ultra Necromza fight genuinely owns, but there's not enough differences to make it feel like you're playing a new game; it's basically the same but with slightly more endgame and massively undermining the plot of the original Sun/Moon game. Unfortunately set the tone for Sword and Shield to follow.

I'm pretty sure I imagined this game. Why is it in here.

It barely fixed any of sun and moon's various problems gameplay wise, made the story worse & everything it added is shallow as hell... why does this re-release exist?

All of the new content should've been in the original games, considering this released barely a year after Sun/Moon. The Ultra Wormhole was a nightmare to navigate sometimes.

how do you actively make the story worse while keeping almost the entirely same beats? instead of lillie standing up to an abusive figure in her life.... lusamine just gets arbitrarily thwarted by ultra necrozma, who is the most unbalanced fight in the series. i fucking hate rotomdex in this, it never shuts the fuck up and literally introduces all of its lines with "here's advice you didn't ask for!!!". shut up you fucking piece of plastic. the only reason to buy this game is for dusk lycanroc. everything else is either in the original, a downgrade, or unnecessary fluff that doesn't justify a new game.

Pokemon sun except a few differences that i can't remember

the best gen 7 game, although thats not saying too much

Malaria is more favorable than this game

might finish this one day idk. i think as i've grown up i've gotten less patient with third version/sequel pokemon games.

I appreciate the different type of beating this game with no gyms, exploring different islands and stuff. But the game doesn't have enough new pokemon and it's just not my style. But man is Solgaleo a badass lion Pokémon and ill admit, getting all the ultra beasts and zygarde cells were fun.

No doubt my favourite Pokémon game. The best difficulty curve I have ever seen in an official Pokémon game, an awesome roster of available Pokémon, an intriguing, if slow paced story, and dramatic battle encounters.

It's a shame Sun and Moon came before it, one can only imagine the love this game would receive it weren't for it's predecessors.

Felt more complete from a story perspective but any other improvements felt negligible. If you've already played Sun or Moon I wouldn't recommend these as it's largely more of the same.

On a technical level, its better than the original in every way. More mons, more things to do, expanded competitive. HOWEVER, on a technical level Pokemon has always been disappointing barring the latter.

So when USUM decided to change the story of the original script and replace all the familial themes and messages on dreams with poopy trash, all you're left with is a boring experience that highlights how much SM's story carried its gameplay.

This is a top 5 pokemon game and in 3 years people will agree with me

this would be 1 star if not for solgaleo

It took me 3 years to finish this game.
I'm honestly surprised I finished it at all.
I didn't think it was bad either.

Great game but man this should of been the only alola game
