That Chronicles of the Sword mode amirite?

I don't think there is any other fighting game that matches the amount of singleplayer content that Soul Calibur III had.

A significant upgrade from SoulCalibur II

DO NOT GO INTO THE SHOPKEEPER SCREEN AND PRESS TRIANGLE OVER AND OVER AGAIN WORST MISTAKE I'VE EVER MADE IN MY LIFE PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS I REPEAT DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GO TO THE SHOP AND MASH THE SHIT OUT OF TRIANGLE AND THEN SEE MASSIVE HOOHAS BOUNCING AROUND NO DONT DO IT MAN NOOOOO

all of my time with this game was spent making ninjas and playing through the story. pretty good

Character balancing and janky bugs aside, there is an ambitious amount of content in pretty much everything there is to offer. This is on top of what I personally feel is my favourite art direction and soundtrack in the whole series.

The only fighting game I ever loved. I'd spend unhealthy amounts of time in this game, unlocked every character, did everyone's campaign, loved everything about it. My favorite characters were probably Cervantes, Ivy and her sword, Yoshimitsu, Raphael (mostly for his name, but I loved playing as him as well), but above all were Setsuka and Taki, I think. Playing as Taki was satisfying as hell, and Setsuka's stage and theme, and the umbrella sword, have stuck with me forever. I was also pretty good at Siegfried and Sophitia.
The backstories, stage design, movesets, I loved it all back then, and if I were to revisit the game today, I think I'd feel about the same. I also loved the alternate paths you could take in the storyline, leading you to fights against bonus opponents, visiting other stages, fighting a huge stone statue called Colossus, or the secret final boss, Night Terror. I remember 8 year-old me trying again and again to reach him after doing it once, before erasing my memory card on accident. The quicktime events in the endings were cool as well, the soundtrack was the shit, I love everything about this game.

fun soul game good story good gameplay + i even enjoyed playing mission mode and i even created KOS-MOS from Xenosaga

I'm not in a position to accurately rate and review this, since I only played it once, but that one experience, as far as I can remember, was my first time ever really playing a game and enjoying it enough to want my own console. Pour one out for the Cici's Pizza where I beat this as a kid, purely through mindless button mashing. That was the only CiCi's my hometown ever had, and it closed just a few years after opening. I haven't played Soul Calibur III since :'^(

(Not) Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series

watched a homeless guy eyeballing ivys fat boobs while people played this at the gameworks in seattle (RIP GAMEWORKS SEATTLE)

Oh it's so sloppy, especially compared to it's previous entry, but goddamn it has so much single player content to get lost in and sink way too many hours into.

Everyone has a “puberty game” and this is mine

My TOP 1 SoulCalibur. Loved his unique modes.

Real real fun. Start of the hilarious character creator SC became infamous for

There is so much single player content here it's insane. I spent so much time in Tales of Souls and the character creator was so deep. I don't really like the genre much as I hate memorizing combos but it was worth it for this game.

Fehlt leider in neueren Teilen

This is my favorite SC game. I had the most fun with it. Probably a sacrilegious statement.

This is the only soul calibur game i've put any meaningful time in and yeah, liked it a lot. First one to have a character creator if I remember right, that was pretty novel at the time. 3 stars for each of the cute shopkeeper gals.

first game i saw to cash in on classic internet memes by including the O RLY? owl as a playable character.
also once tried to do the whole conquest mode in one sitting since my memory card was on the outs and I was Not successful
