IT'S TRICKY TO ROCK A RHYME, TO ROCK A RHYME THAT'S RIGHT ON TIME, IT'S TRICKAYYYYY

The snowboarding counterpart to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. Fun tracks, crazy tricks and memorable characters.

Wait? That cool ass song wasn't made for the game?

deserves a 5/5 based on sound design and vibes alone. EVERYTHING about this game is so unapologetically over the top it's unforgettable. when you press start the title screen opens up to a low roar to reveal the main menu. there is dynamic music not only for gameplay but also each layer of the ui. when you jump high enough the music fades out and mock b-movie quotes play. one level is a giant pinball machine, another is a city with snow engulfing its skyscrapers. shortcuts are marked with giant windows that shatter when you cross then and then a divine mix of whatever corny trance song is playing kicks in. the main gameplay hook is literally built around a run dmc sample. just an absolute masterclass in maximalism.

"This is gonna be very, very interesting."

Really fun game with awesome aesthetics.

I would kill for a Switch port of this.

Good sports game with tight controls & fun maps. Ozzes charm through the characters & music.

One of the games of my childhood. Fucking brilliant.

THIS IS A CERTIFIED HOOD CLASSIC

Best snowboarding game ever. awesome tracks, cool and unique characters, some basic but great for its time RPG leveling stuff like how fast the character is, or how well a board will control etc. I always felt like this game should get a remake or a sequel because this game was outstanding for it’s time, and was even more fun if you had friends to play it with.

Its the best one of them all.

Loved this game as a kid. Really fun and sometimes competitive at times! Wish I played the ps2 version.

The last good Snowboarding game that will ever be made.

Cómo hacer un juego de snowboard bien:

1. Métele personajes molonguis.

2. Métele unas mecánicas y trucos loquísimos.

3. Métele un buen temardo de Run DMC.

Probably the best snowboard game for its time

You can't not appreciate the absurdity that is SSX Tricky. Personally I think 3 is the best SSX game, but I wouldn't fault anyone for preferring the stylish insanity of Tricky.

Sad to see what has become of EA after releasing such bangers. No sports game had more flair than this. The willingness to push the boundaries of physics to the absurd (breakdancing on your board in midair) made it more playable than other games that focused more on competitive racing. It's Tricky.

its TIME TO ROCK A RHYME THATS RIGHT ON TIME ITS TRICKY HUUUUOOOOAAAAHHHHH

People love to rave about SSX Tricky. "Oh man it's so good," they say. Well guess what? It's fine. It has some really good tracks, like Tokyo or Hawaii. It has some awful tracks, whose names I've buried in the recesses of my mind. The showoff mode was less interesting to me than something like the Tony Hawk games. Having to unlock tricks through the trickbook didn't interest me in the slightest. Maybe it's because I have the notion that SSX games are racing games, so I naturally looked forward to the races more. The actual racing in Tricky is mediocre. There's no punch like in SSX 3, the only SSX I'd played before this one, and it makes knocking down opponents very odd. It felt like every time I collided with an opposing racer, whether by my fault or theirs, it was a dice roll as to who got knocked down or pushed in what direction. The controls are fine, nothing stand-out in my opinion. Learning the little intricacies of the landscapes and physics was pretty fun. Tricky is an ok game.
