This is easily the best of the classic Pro Skater games before it all shifted going into THPS4. Both levels and goals are creative and entertaining and the addition of the revert ability was a godsend for keeping up ridiculous combo chains. PS2-era extreme sports gaming at it's best honestly.

The best pro skater game, the levels are the goat. You even get a level with goals after you do the last competition. Create a skater has seen much improvements. Vert and street skaters have some different goals and locations. The only nitpick I have in this game is the stat points, I prefer the cash system in Pro Skater 2. The PS1 version is different from all the others, different goals, and no pedestrians. But its still a pretty good version nonetheless.

el tony hawk que más jugue (solo jugue los tres primeros). muy divertido pero como me costó sacarme medalla de oro en las competiciones

GBA Version Score: 3.5/5

A bit of a step down from 2 on GBA sadly, mainly because while the console version of 3 feels like a monumental leap in quality from 2, this just feels like the same game with some new moves added. Which isn't a bad thing necessarily! But it doesn't feel that innovative. Maybe I'm thinking a bit too hard about these downgraded ports, but idk. Still fun! The levels are way bigger in this and the revert is definitely a nice addition. There's also Sponsor Mode which I've barely dipped into yet but it adds more gameplay to the game which is nice.

While I never loved the 2 minute timer goal based gameplay of the original Pro Skaters, I'm still really fond of this entry. Based on what I've seen of the first two, this is where they got the knack for building parks. The parks here are really well designed, memorable and fun to skate on. The game also introduced the revert, which is the last absolute essential move for the combo system that was introduced. This game is really fun to dink around with to this day.

i loooove popping a kickflip mctwist as darth maul!!!!!!!

Greatest innovations in gaming history:
1. The D-Pad
2. 3D Rendering
3. Handheld Game Systems
4. Online Multiplayer
5. The Revert in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

I felt Pro Skater 3 levels are a real downgrade from 1 and 2, they are too crazy and barely feel like place to skate in at all, also the revert mechanic fucked up the franchise combo balancing and overall points difficult, with later games only being worst.

A massive mechanical step forward for the series which is dramatically held back by the maps. I think Neversoft must have figured that with all the extra mobility and options for combo extensions the skating mechanics in THPS3 afford the player, they could make maps with much less clear lines and obnoxious hidden objects that make traversal and finding goals very difficult. This results in an experience that is generally much more competent than the previous two games on its surface, but which gets held back by maps that barely feel like they're meant to be skated on (much love for Airport, though).

I love this one less than I remembered, but it's still a good time and worth a play. To see this series at its best, though, you'll want to check out the masterpieces THPS4 and the much more recently released THPS 1+2.

one of my personal fave entries, fucking excellent levels and soundtrack

The most refined game of the PS1 trilogy. It's just more of the same. Which is good.

Classic Tony Hawk gameplay with some of the most creative levels in the series. This is the game that added the revert, but it's missing some moves that would eventually become integral to the series like spine transfers, leveling out, wall plants, and double tap tricks.

Even with the inferior move set, this among the most replayable PS2-era Tony Hawk games due to its shorter length and structure.

This was another Tony Hawk game that was a big part of my childhood growing up as I remember playing every morning before going to school and being obsessed with the levels and chaos you can ensue for the first time in a Tony Hawk game. Unfortunately, that excitement fell flat for me twenty years later. I was excited to get back into this game after so many years not playing it, but honestly it has not aged too well, leaving my nostalgia glasses broken after finishing this game.

I'll get to the point. Compared to the more slow controls of THPS 1 and 2, 3 feels WAY too slick and fast for its own good. I know they were trying to go for that energetic, entropic vibe that later series will soon follow, but the controls in this game feel far worser than I remember than to be. Even when leveling up my stats I had a hard time controlling my character cuz they would move around too quickly or felt too slippery, hell even the collision in this game tends to ruin the flow of my sessions which does not mix well with these frustrating controls. Luckily it wasn't game breaking enough for me to quit my playthrough, but toward the end of the game I just about had it with it's ridiculousness.

The levels while iconic and were definitely an introduction to a new era of Tony Hawk, but they felt too much like a playground and not like a reliable area for skating. The maps all felt too cluttered for me to make a streamlined combo. I was able to do long combos for most of them, but even in the most ideal situations I often found myself thinking how poorly made some of these maps were compared to 1 and 2.

Aside from frustrating controls and level design, the objectives in this game were admittedly far better than the first two games and were a lot of fun. The introduction of NPCs that you can "interact" with that helps modify the maps feel satisfying with their incentives.

The music selection for this game as per usual is great, albeit one or two songs that are quite honestly cringe to hear nowadays, but hey it wouldn't be a Tony Hawk game if it didn't have some kind of level of campiness to it.

The game overall is in no way bad, and I do think it earned itself as one of the best games ever made for its time, but thats the thing. It was good for its time. Nowadays it just feels like a messy game compared to both older and newer titles. Maybe I'm just a lot more old school than I think myself to be or maybe I'm not alone in thinking this, but either way it's an ok game, and that I think in itself should be an okay thing too!

I'd recommend this game to the following:
-Tony Hawk Fans (Duh)
-sport games fans (double duh)
-someone looking for a bit of that old school game design of constant replay value and charming aesthetics/appeal.

pure, simple and challenging fun.
A great case of easy to learn but hard to master.

I’ll admit I kinda suck at this game but I still return every now and then for a good time.

A trilha sonora que mudou minha vida!

After finishing THPS2, I was a tad concerned to play this game as I didnt really like the levels from THPS2.

Luckily, THPS3 levels are nearly all fantastic. The added combo extension mechanic makes the game flow a lot better, though it's such shame sticker slaps weren't introduced here.

Overall a great time. Will be grinding for 100%.

OH BOY CAN'T WAIT TO GRIND DIRECTLY INTO THE FOUNDRY PIT FOR THE FIVE-HUNDEREDTH TIME

One of the all time great skateboarding series (though we don't talk about 5... ever), Pro Skater 3 is easily right up there as one of the best entries in the Tony Hawk series with some really great levels, tricks to pull off, secrets to find and plenty of other cool stuff too.

It's always enjoyable to rack up the high scores and pull off some insanely flashy combos and this game delivers by the bucket load. Probably one of my favourite games.

While some of the levels don't hold my interest as well as THPS 2 or 4, quite simply, the revert is a game-changer for the series and to give any less than 4 stars alone would be criminal.

The maps are great, the gameplay is greatly improved and the revert is one of the biggest game changers of all time.

Levels Ranked (no classics):

maybe the UI isn’t the prettiest (ugly as hell)

Probably the best traditional Tony Hawk game. Lots of secrets to discover, funny moves, great customizability, and just a fun time all around.
