A former child actor in my high school told me that he had 4 copies of this game, and that I can have one of them. It took him like a month, but eventually he gave me a copy before classes one day when the game was still like $80. I don't know if he was lying or what, but I got a copy of Xenoblade when that was a really big deal and I was pumped. I then proceeded to play it and it absolutely floored me. I wonder if he really did have 4 copies, or just lied because he wanted me to be his friend or something.
The dub for this is fantastic. The story is good, and the whole idea for the setting is cool. Combat is very MMO-y which is fine. Environments are also very MMO-y, which makes many areas huge and impressive, but also means a whole lot of walking which may not jive with some people. Sidequests, unfortunately, are EXTREMELY MMO-y, and not in a good way. It is very rare for me to completely ignore sidequests in any game, but man, I noped out of these so fast. There are a million, billion sidequests, and frankly they all suck. Like, really suck. Just play the main story, you'll find more than enough good content there.
One day I hope to get the Switch version and actually finish this game, but for now I can say that it was a lot of fun until I hit a wall where I needed to grind and just didn't feel like doing it. The characters and world were fun and fascinating, and I really do want to see how the story ends someday.
