I would lie to you if I said I didn't have fun.
The style is amazing, very talented artists.
The songs are bangers (personally I don't like lyrics while fighting so I put +R music on, but Strive's OST is good). Don't worry, you'll have a loooot of time to listen to the music on youtube while trying to connect to the servers.
Some redesigns are ok I guess. But the gameplay... having cooked such a good RC mechanic just to not take the full potential of it.
Combos feel meaningless, expressionless.
Also...
WHERE IS THE POGO?????!????!????!!????!?!???
Save yourself some money and buy +R or Rev2 while listening to Strive's OST on youtube or spotify.

Really good fighting game with some amazing graphics. The “story mode” is boring as sin though. I could maybe accept that it’s not actually a playable campaign if it wasn’t all presented so poorly.
Not the big part of the game though. The important part is that it’s visually stunning and a thrill to play. I especially love Bridget!

This game is phenomenal.. It’s a perfext game for inexperienced fighting gamers to truly learn the ropes and discover the one of a kind exhilarating gameplay that fighting games have to offer. It also is the perfect gateway drug into the wild aesthetics and themings of the guilty gear franchise which contain some of the most over the top and striking pieces of visual design I’ve experienced especially when it comes to individual character expression. Most of all though it’s the soundtrack. This game is actually just the perfect music video for easily one of the best rock albums of this decade even if you can’t handle the fighting game genre if you are a fan of music I implore you to listen to some of the character themes from strive as they not only slap as music on their own, they completely embody and complement the characters they’re made for.
A game of significant potential squandered by its developers. Many don't remember that Xrd -SIGN- also had a lot of issues compared to the later -REV2-, so Strive's issues were acceptable. But years later, the issues persist and have arguably gotten worse. That combined with poorly handled story and characters post-launch, it just leaves me feeling empty and this game has been a significant part of my disillusionment with Fighting Games as a genre.
Strive was the first guilty gear I've ever played, and some of the most fun with a fighting game I've had given my recent history with them. I started it a few years ago, but it was right before Aba was introduced that I came back and got really into it. OST is phenomenal, arcsys animations are incredible as always, and the characters are a major highlight given their histories. I mained Ramlethal, and had a blast grinding the rank tower, getting better and better. A very introductory-friendly fighting game, deserves to be played by veterans and new fans alike.
