this game really puts the ACTION in action-roguelike. Incentives for speed yet incentives for taking your time to explore, options to play safe with tools or options to rush down, there's a lot of playstyles you can take that are fun to explore.
While gameplay is fun, I feel like the maps get stale after a bit. This game is REALLY one of those games where if I a get a good run and end, I just have no motivation to play at all and don't play the game for another 5 months before I pick it up again at some point.

Just finished "Dead Cells" and wow, what a ride! This game has totally changed how I see fast-paced combat games. The parry system? Amazing. The enemies start off tough, but they’re totally learnable, which means you get better the more you play. Even though it’s pretty hard at first, the right builds and a few tries make a huge difference.
The music was a standout for me—those 8-bit tracks in the Clock Tower and High Peak Castle levels were killer!
But by the end, I was pretty burned out, didn't chase down the true ending, and just watched it on YouTube instead. No regrets though, this game deserves all the hype it gets.
A bit off-topic but related: I'm a bigger fan of "Hades" overall, but I'm still excited for what’s next, like "Hades 2." And I heard the team behind "Dead Cells" isn't at Motion Twin anymore—hope they're cooking up something new!
