It's good, simple fun. I like the inversion of the typical horror dynamic, and it's fun considering how to approach a situation to cause as much carnage as possible. It could maybe do more with the premise, but taken on its own, Carrion is a good time.

The game translates to a 2D, video-game setting the experience of controlling an alien creature that consists of an amorphous and predatory mass of flesh, that stalks and preys on other living beings. In that regard, the game is fabulous, as moving around and eating people feels fluid, and most importantly, fun.

However, the novelty wore off for me by the half of the game. The "reverse horror game" that the developers propose turns out to be kind of like a puzzle game in disguise, with certain mechanics reminding me of cinematic platformers like the Oddworld series. But the Oddworld games had a great story and more variety. In contrast, Carrion just turns a bit formulaic and repetitive. "Drop an egg with your body mass so you can use X power to move a lever that you cannot reach, then go back to where you left the egg to eat it again so you can use Y power to remove a wooden block, then use Z power..." Rinse and repeat throughout the whole game.

I was just a bit disappointed by the hype, but it may be worth a play depending on your taste.

Not gonna lie, it's a lot of fun being a big gory monster eating the humans who have imprisoned you and collecting the bits of your monster back that they cut out. Gameplay is straightfoward, although backtracking to find the containment unit upgrades (passives) once you have all your active powers is slightly less so, if you're no good without a map.

Carrion is a great looking game with a simple but fun gameplay and a neat soundtrack. A really good time.

From what I saw it was decent

É uma experiência curta que dá pra finalizar numa tarde (Ser um parasita vilão foi bem bacana! ahaha). Jogaço!

A really cool stealth platformer/puzzle game. Controls for the monster are inventive, and the aesthetic really helps reinforce the sense that you are controlling a stalking behemoth from a horror movie. Unfortunately the lack of a map requires levels to be quite limited for a Metroidvania, and when they do start to expand they become cumbersome to explore. Its an interesting game, but I really hate wandering around not knowing where to go. The larger monster sizes also open you up to some insta-kills, which run counter to the encouraged play style. Definitely worth trying out for its unique ideas and vibe though!

Fun but no sense of direction AT ALL

I wish this game lasted for ever. I'm begging you to go support the dev and give this masterpiece a try.

I kneel.

Fun little metroidvania. Really enjoyed it

Short and fun. The controls can be a bit odd at times but it makes sense since you are a……blob of sorts. The stealth is fun and not really frustrating. I felt like the game was just about the right length as well. My only issues with it was sometimes the combat was a bit annoying for some stages but they’re not hard to get past.

Best "you are the horror" game ever

really great idea for a game, stalking the humans and attacking them from vents and crevasses was awesome. kinda fell off in the later sections of the game but overall pretty good.

Shotrt but interesting gameplay. Reminds me of Metroidvanias. Not a lot of depth here, but it is a short and sweet experience. Neat abilities and level designs.
