the best castlevania.
yest better than sotn, plz remove your nostalgia glasses

I have never gotten the love for this game. Its fun, but its also one of the grindiest games in this whole series and above all just plain tedious. The story is cool, and some of the art is great, but the gameplay just holds it back so hard.

peak. play on an original gba or an emulator that supports colour correction and a good lcd filter and this game looks and plays better than sex - still probably one of the best feeling metroidvanias ever. smth about it being on the gba just gives it this aura that i cant really articulate but michiru yamane and ayami kojima putting music and artwork respectively into this game that still manages to ooze gothic horror more than most games in the franchise before and after it despite the weak hardware just makes it 10x cooler than it already is. i think it was the last game kojima did art for too which sucks and i didn't even know ooe's art wasn't done by them until recently (which speaks of how good the art also is in that game but im getting sidetracked) but i will be eternally grateful for this game's character portraits, i love you endgame soma. did a randomizer replay and ngl it's even better when you aren't steamrolling the endgame with the claim solais lol. julius belmont fight fucks so hard and something something characters fighting against their predestined fate something something peak fiction god this game is so good dude. really good way to end the timeline too -matthias cronqvist's soul finally gets incarnated as something that isn't dracula and immediately takes the opportunity to destroy chaos and end the cycle leaving no room or need for a sequel that fucks up the artstyle and plays worse. still waiting on a 1999 game though, here's hoping seal of the eclipse gets finished sooner or later.

This feels pretty breezy and refreshing to play compared to so many other igavanias. The other GBAnias waste your time with reckless abandon, and even Bloodstained’s grind felt quite tedious. But this one’s grinding is largely optional, there are easily accessible items to reduce the lategame grind, and it’s generally easy to remember where to return to with new abilities throughout the game. Definitely worth a go if you’re into Castlevania at all.

I always preferred symphony of the night over aria of sorrow, but my opinion has changed... I am now part of the aria of sorrow gang💯

Anyways this is a metroidvania game where you play as the best boi Soma Cruz. Soma Cruz is just a regular dude who wanted to see a solar eclipse but he accidentally awakens in a castle with monsters and now he has to find a way to escape.

In this big ass castle you will find many different items that you can equip. You can stumble upon many weapons that have different speed, range and damage. You can also find stuff that will increase some of your stats such as armours and rings.
Something new that aria of sorrow introduces is the amazing soul system. Every enemy can drop a soul that you can equip, and these souls can change your stats, give you a new attack and give you an ability. The soul system is such an amazing new feature to the game since it makes Soma Cruz a very fun character to play as thanks to the huge variety of souls that he can equip.

The story is actually pretty memorable because of its great cast of characters. My favorite character is the GOAT Hammer who is a soldier that sells you a bunch of stuff that can be very helpful and he will buy all the items that are useless to you but obviously our protagonist Soma Cruz is also goated.

This time the castle is actually fun to explore UNLIKE A CERTAIN CASTLEVANIA CIRCLE OF THE MOON! And i barely got lost in this game because you can find castle maps which are super helpful.
Oh and the progression is very satisfying UNLIKE A CERTAIN CASTLEVANIA CIRCLE OF THE MOON!

This game probably has my favorite boss lineup in any castlevania game. There's many great boss fights such as headhunter, balore, legion, graham and chaos, but the best boss in the game is easily Julius Belmont, his fight feels like you're against another player and i love it.

The ost is obviously really good.
My favorite tracks are: heart of fire, forbidden area, you're not alone, top floor and chapel.

I don't have many complaints with the game.
The first 4 bosses of the game become normal enemies for some reason and getting the best ending for the game was pretty tedious (not as tedious as getting sotn's best ending tho) but other than that i can't think of any other complaint.

Overall this is easily the best gba castlevania game and i highly recommend it if you are looking for a good metroidvania to play.
10/10

Love this game so much. Amazing gameplay. The souls system is genius. Really fun bosses, and a great castle.

Aria of Sorrow is a really good game, albeit I don't think it manages to trump Symphony of the Night as the best Castlevania game. There are still some questionable design choices, for example the knockback system is still archaic, and a lot of enemy placements are very frustrating, but overall it manages to execute this series' formula very well.

This is, without doubt, one of the best games on the GBA. The music is great, the pacing is quite quick and satisfying, and it's a real looker.

I have no real complaints about the game whatsoever.

Awesome game, best GBA Castlevania by far, amazing soul system, amazing exploration, very good gameplay, good bosses, good ost and a very ok story, not that this matters anyway, is still a masterpiece, if only some souls were to have a higher drop rate it would make the game better.

Ill forgive the grinding cause the soul system is a really good addition to the series

The best Castlevania I've ever played, I didn't get to platinum but I completed the game with 100% of the map and lvl-95. I completed the game in 12 hours, but if you don't grind, you can complete it in 6~7 hours.

Sym-phony of the gay eats this game's ass metroidvanias peaked here

One of the most enjoyable castlevanias, no complaints
Short and sweet. Highly recommended

Almost on par with "Symphony of the night" and that's an impressive statement considering this game was developed for an handheld console, the GBA, much weaker than a PSX. Interesting story and characters, amazing soundtrack as always, cool bosses and captivating art direction. One of the absolute best Castlevanias inspired by Metroid.

soma pls spare the valorant characters some rizz

My first Castlevania game and it was an enormous fun. Overall, the level design was great, and the boss fights were great too. Amazing monster design btw

First game completed on 28XX. Really fun! Helpful to have save states.

it is very difficult to put into words what makes this game so special and such a masterpiece
it is almost like everything about this game just worked, the combat, the platforming, the soundtrack, everything just clicked and the only problems i have are nitpicks
every area feels unique, every boss encounter feels fresh and fun (minus legion fuck legion) it is such a tightly knit game

It has some annoying things. but it's pretty good, the map is so much better than the one in hollow knight, the soul mechanic is really good and it controls nicely.

This game is fantastic and got me hooked on the GBA to DS era Castlevania games. Just look at, they'll burn a hole in your pocket once you start.

This game is amazing and impressive for a GBA title. The souls system is a great addition, but it makes the game a bit too easy if you farm a bit, combined with the vendor selling really strong item early on. Still a must play !

More like Aria of PEAK. Game is so stinkin' fun, it's crazy. The soul system is one of the best ideas they've done for a metroidvania game.

GBA has very good pixel art but sadly not many good action games.
This is one of the few.

PRA MIM, ele é o melhor Castlevania de todos os tempos

Best Igavania of the GBA releases, and one of the few games I did to 100%

I got three endings in just two hours I'm a pretty cool gamer huh? you should check them all out yourself or at least watch them on youtube (but playing is way more fun)
