Super fun. No better feeling than having a new kingdom to explore and new power moons to collect! I'm seven years late to this title yet I feel like it has been a while since I have played a truly polished game like this.

Also New Donk City festival is too iconic.

I mean, it's alright, but Nintendo games have never really been my thing.

An elaborate commentary on the white man and the use of other races for his selfish needs

Two things in this world make me cry tears of joy. The ending of Tick... Tick... Boom, and the final song of this game. This game is brilliant in every single way, and is just such a joy to play. There's nothing more that can be said. This game is perfect, and I would honestly not change a thing. If the next 3D Mario is anything like this, then I think Nintendo has done something right.

I will be the one to say it, it's better than Galaxy. While are a lot of collectables (and some rely on annoying methods) I had no issue getting all the moons and felt happily rewarded after getting them all.

Earth shatteringly good controls, but lacks the sauce of something like Galaxy

As I go through my Switch catalog, I'm astounded by how quickly I devoured these first party games compared to the impression they left on me. 80+ hours in a little over two months to find 999 power moons. What a wonderful game.

Though I'll always have a soft spot for the Galaxy games, this one's no doubt the best 3D Mario as of yet. Kills me that they didn't add anything else to it besides Luigi's Balloon World, but hey. Stunning vistas with a built in camera mode, really took advantage of all the Switch's systems like HD rumble for those few moons, and a perfect level curve, especially with Dark and Darker side - those last few scarecrow Darker side ones were a blast. And the final challenge definitely fits the exquisite lineage of final 3D Mario levels.

Of course, there were some duds - all the Toadette moon (sorry, star) challenges really inflated the count, and some of the most obtuse moons were downright annoying (Thanks ProZD). Had to look up a few here and there, like that racecar one in New Donk, and it did get a bit formulaic in the side challenges in each kingdom - one main moon, one hidden moon.

Still, what a blast. The New Donk City sequence perfectly paced to give you a big semblance of a win in the middle of the story, and then the final escape sequence on the moon. Pure fun!

Best game to be played on the Switch, only BOTW and TOTK come close.

I really enjoyed the variety of the game, the smooth mechanics and also the music. There is so much to do, and so many different levels. It was just fun from beginning to end.

Super Mario Odyssey gives me unfair expectations for other 3D Platformers, Daisy gives me unfair expectations for all other women.

Man this game is good the first time you play it.
...
That's it. Don't try to play this game a second time, as the padding will be way more apparent.

This is the game that showed me, that I'm terrible at 3D Plattformers and it's just not my genre anymore. Still a great time!

Best 3D Mario and I have no idea how they can ever top this one

Honestly the most fun I've had with a 3D Mario game (though I need to replay galaxy to see my feelings on that) with fluid controls, epic music, fun visuals, and some pretty cool ideas. The fault with this game is being so forgiving and easy that it requires you to take breaks to deal with the sluggish boss fights that are usually the exact fight you did three levels ago, and while I'm all for easy games this is TOO easy, along with the issue of the more open maps checkpoints being a bit too spread out forcing you to run all the way back to where you were if you somehow manage to die to a floor hazard.
However the ability to take control of iconic enemies and use their abilities to traverse a level or solve puzzles is really fun and that's a massive reason I don't hate this game, add in the funny costumes and it's a good time.

this game was a breeze and too short for my liking
very fun though!

hurts to say this as a sonic fan but clearly this is the best 3d platformer ever made

I always love Mario been a fan since I was a kid. Never been disappointed and this was just a different take that was extremely fun.

Muito maneiro, cada mundo tem suas peculiaridades e isso é absurdamente cativante, me diverti muito, ainda mais pela boa implementação dos controles de movimento do switch.
