Final bosses with 200 phases never fail to disappoint

It's incredible that Kirby in the 2010's was pretty repetetive, yet still managed to bring out quality titles all around (even though I think Star Allies was just okay and haven't played Triple Deluxe for myself yet). This one is my favorite not only of four, but also my favorite in the series, even though I don't really have much to say about it, either that I can't come up with much or it has already been said by others.

What I can say is that a pitfall I think most Kirby games fall into, even the good ones, is that the levels of one world tend to blend themselves together, but here, the industrial setting and mecha suit help every level stand out from one another. And the final boss of the True Arena may be my favorite boss battle in any game I've played.

This is also the Kirby game were we can start saying "What were the writers smoking?"

Great game. This game has fun levels, a great OST, and the Robobot armor is a great gimmick. I liked the Hypernova in Triple Deluxe, but the Robobot suit has way more variety since it can copy abilities just like Kirby can. The main story is a fun time, and Metaknightmare Returns was a fun way to revisit the levels. The side games are also pretty fun, although they are a bit too short, especially 3D Rumble. Overall this game is a great time and I highly recommend it.

The setting and main gimmick really makes Planet Robobot unique from every other Kirby game.

Though, I find it odd that the story only comes in when you're already partway through the main game.

The final boss of Kirby: Planet Robobot is probably my favorite of the final bosses in Kirby other than Marx in Kirby Super Star.

Just like the game before this, Planet Robobot refines many of the things introduced (or re-introduced) in Return to Dream Land, and... it's once again a great Kirby game!

I will say though, I feel like Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot kinda blend in with each other, and for me at least, it's hard to pick which one I like more.
Maybe I like Planet Robobot just a tiny bit better, but I would completely understand if somebody prefered Triple Deluxe over this one.
Really, it comes down to preference.

Kirby Planet Robobot is one of my favorite Kirby games of all time.
While a Kirby game is always somewhat similar to the rest, the Robobot was a lot of fun as it has it's own set of copy abilities too which are cool to explore. Robobot stands out with it's music and style compared to the other games.

I paid $15 for this game, but would pay double. At full price??? Not sure any Kirby game is worth it, but Robobot has since been so discounted it shouldn't be hard to find.
A gem of a DS game, and the OST will always have a special place in my heart.

your drill is the drill that will pierce the omnipotent computer!

Played through the whole game while dealing with wisdom teeth pain for a week

This, in my opinion, is the best Kirby game ever released. It nails what it set out to do - it's got a fun setting and story, a great gimmick (who doesn't love giant robots?) and some of the best post-game content and bosses the series has to offer. It also has loads of references to Kirby 64, another personal Kirby favorite of mine - so I may be biased. I love this game and wish it was more readily accessible for people to check out.

The best title in the series for me. The main gimmick - the suit of armor - is very fun to use since you get to give it abilities too! And the parts where you use it are mixed into the levels in a way that doesn't ruin them. Also great OST.

WHO THE POYO DO YOU THINK I AM!?
Haltmann and Star Dream are probably two of my favorite villains is media

Kirby Planet Robobot zerado

I am aware that I tend to throw around the phrase "peak fiction" a lot BUT I SWEAR TO CHRIST I REALLY MEAN IT THIS TIME. EVERYTHING ABOUT KIRBY PLANET ROBOBOT IS PEAK.

THE STORY IS PEAK
THE CHARACTERS ARE PEAK
THE LEVEL DESIGN IS PEAK
THE NEW GIMMICK IS PEAK
THE SOUNDTRACK IS PEAK
THE BOSS FIGHTS ARE PEAK
THE EXTRAS ARE PEAK
ITS ALL SO FUCKING PEAK

This is the greatest 2D Kirby game ever made and one of the greatest 2D platformers of all time. Thanks for all the memories old friend...

ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWER!

Easily the best Kirby. The gameplay is as tight as ever with a gimmick makes it feel truly dynamic. Level design is great with some amazing stylization with the mechanized aesthetic. The story is heartbreaking when pieced together, the post game is fantastic, easily the best Kirby games and one of the best 2D platformers period. It's literally gurren lagan 10/10

In terms of gameplay, this is the peak of the Kirby series. The level design and gameplay concepts are so imaginative, between the Robobot armor segments, the the background and foreground switching, and the traditional Kirby puzzle design, there are just so many gameplay concepts here that keep the levels exciting throughout the entire game. It's really one of the best 2D platformers I've played.

Aside from gameplay though, everything about the "technology" theme is fantastic. Old enemies are now mechanized, new obstacles and level themes are constantly being thrown at you. The music is sometimes strange and experimental, but it perfectly fits with the aesthetic.

The one major complaint that I have is that I wish the story was actually told to the player. Without getting too much into spoilers, there's genuinely some really compelling lore here that recontextualizes the entire game once you learn it. The problem is, none of it is actually told to us in game, it has to be pieced together from pause screen descriptions and miiverse posts from the director of all things. Knowing the lore isn't necessary to enjoy a Kirby game, but it's frustrating that the devs seem so uninterested in actually conveying their story in an intuitive way.

"You euthanized your faithful Companion Kirb more quickly than any test subject on record. Congratulations."
