This game has ideas that I really enjoy, like the city itself being one of the main "residences" of the game. And man does it feel badass whenever you succeed at a perfect dodge. That said, this game ultimately suffers from being in between as the series transitioned from survival horror into action horror. With a foot in both doors it really doesn't succeed and instead feels a bit frustrating to play. The camp I look for in Capcom games also feels like its missing. It's in the script - the delivery just doesn't really sell it for me this time around. I also hate every section of the game where you need to run from nemesis. It's not too frequent, but it's enough to annoy me.
If its predecessor remains better, Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 remake is nonetheless a masterful overhaul of the horror classic. It revitalizes the terror of the original with modern graphics and gameplay while staying true to its roots. The game’s centerpiece, Raccoon City, is a marvel of environmental storytelling, with its meticulously detailed urban decay and relentless undead. The single-player campaign is a standout, offering a perfect blend of nostalgia and new-age horror that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The single-player experience makes Resident Evil 3 a must-play title for fans and newcomers alike. It’s a testament to Capcom’s ability to deliver a remake that feels both fresh and familiar.
Total buy on sale game but has excellent Replay value as it's one of the most accessible speedrunning games out there imo. It's the first game I ever platinumed and I played it on release making the the constant blare of ambulance sirens outside my house so immersive that it broke my immersion because i was shaking at how immersed I was. 4 realzies tho, great gameplay loop and it's a really short game with some worthwhile fun unlockables. I played it 10 times in a row and I'm only dropping that last store because of the story content they cut from the original. If you're not absolutely enamored with anything resident evil, paying full price for this game is highway robbery

Not many or any improvements upon RE2 remake, which was fair enough already nearly perfect. I don't think the items were placed very well bc at some points I didn't know whether I should save ammo or spend it bc there'll be ammo right around the corner and so much that I can't carry it anymore. My game froze quite a few times as well. Glad I didn't get that complete game breaking freeze at the hospital.
After playing the original, I'm obviously sad they kinda rushed this one out so quickly, with the clock tower and the park missing and all. I'd have rather had the clock tower than the hospital, but I can settle for the hospital. Just as creepy as in the original game where you encounter the hunters for the first time, which are still pretty terrifying. Jill Valentine is rightfully my favorite RE character and her dynamic in this one with Carlos and Nemesis was pretty awesome. Nemesis is generally cool in this one and completely cool in the original. Here I don't like the existence of the second stage that much
