I still play it to this day in weeklies from time to time. already sunken thousands of hours into it. The balancing of the character are alright. Still get humbled by a ganondorf from time to time. If you wanna play smash bros this is the version of course. Only recommend if youre saltproof.

That being said, I can't stress enough how the online mode killed my desire to get into it more. I'm not exactly surrounded by people who play Smash, and the few people in my life who do aren't always in close proximity. The only ways I can maybe get some practice are either through really choppy PvP matches OR through CPU battles, and those aren't exactly the best options.

top 5 most toxic games/game communities of all time I hate this community so much. online is also the most miserable video game experience you could ask for. other than that game still fun tho 👍👍👍
An absolute blast and worthy successor to 2014's Smash 4. Hundreds of hours spent playing this game online, with friends, and etc. The lack of a great online mode however, makes it fall flat without friends to play with a somewhat shallow single player adventure.

It's video games, baby. I've had a deep love of Smash Bros. since the N64 title, and my favorite gaming memories involve long nights with friends and hours of Smash. This lives up to its name by taking the best parts of all the prior games and putting them all together. Will come back to it again and again forever.
What if we took all the negative aspects of Smash 4... and we just kept them? And what if we also fucked up the balance even more? Perfect, ship it.
Truly one of the best, if the not the best brawler ever made. It's insanely fun and challenging and is worth a lot of hours. The solo campaign was fun but i expected something more interesting.

To preface, I competed in this game in tournaments and I'm approaching this game as a competitive game. For casuals, you can disregard this and pretend it's a 4-star review.
DLC ruined this game, FP2 specifically. They make the game much more unfun any time they appear on the screen.
Movement was nerfed from Wii U and it feels like I'm moving across lines on a grid instead of fluidly and buttery. Platforms feel sticky and hard to drop through. I'll try to do a drop-through aerial and instead I crouch on the platform and don't get my intended result. Just a clunky game at times and it's frustrating to deal with.
Auto short hop aerials are not good. I understand they remove a barrier to entry, but it should be able to be toggled on or off. I have to move my fingers quickly at times and the auto short hop can mess up what I intend to do and cost me in certain interactions.
All in all, they tried to make the game easier for bad players (not that I'm some world beater in terms of skill) and casual players. This often comes at the cost of making a game less fun overall for experienced players. I can obviously play with friends and have fun, but it is much less fun to play as a whole than previous entries in the series.

Playing with friends is a blast. The overly lengthy campaign is agonizingly boring.

This shit is so goated when playing with your friends at their house, I don't have a nintendo switch but I play it a lot at my friends house, it kind of hard to set up but this game is fun as fuck. Kirby>

What can i say!? It is Super Smash Bros ULTIMATE
I absolutely love this game. Easily my favorite Smash game to date. Yes, some (maybe most) of the content is from previous games, but that doesn't take away from the love put into this game. I would be sad if this were the last entry, but I can't fathom how they will top it.
