An update to Dandy, which makes it both a predecessor and derivative of Gauntlet. Regardless of where you put it in the pecking order, it doesn't add anything of interest to the format.

Fun dungeon crawler. It is much different than the 7800 version, and in a great way. It's worth checking out if you can find it.

Played as part of Atari 50.

This port sucks lol. Why were people still making and buying shitty 2600 games in 89 when the NES had existed for years at this point lmao

its decent, kind of fun, its impressive for an Atari 2600 game but in general games on there just didn't age that well, but this is creative and interesting, going through the dungeons attacking the monsters and trying to find the exits and gather items

A remake of a 1983 game, Dark Chambers feels like Berzerk or Frenzy if they were dreadfully slow and boring. I've seen people liken this game to Gauntlet, but I haven't played that, so I can't compare the two titles. But I do know this: Dark Chambers isn't worth your time. It's repetitive, and it doesn't even measure up to its contemporaries. Love the ominous title screen, though.

Good dungeon game, reminds me of Gauntlet.

Played as part of Atari 50.

The Legend of Zelda released 2 years earlier... but this is fine, I guess. Extremely simplistic but it's, like, a fine maze dungeon crawler. Extremely easy though

Playing Through My Evercade Collection Part 5: Atari Vol 2

Look I want to be polite with this one, I get this is the 2600 version of something that should probably have never touched the 2600 due to how cut back it is and I get this is part of Atari's problem that they never learnt to let go of systems....

For what it is, its a surprisingly competent port of Dark Chambers and does stuff I honestly thought the 2600 couldn't accomplish... But its also really slow, clunky and aside from that initial 'Oh wow the Atari 2600 did this?' I cant really recommend this.
